Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently published Treatment for Pediatric Gender Dysphoria: Review of Evidence and Best Practices. Given current widespread distrust of HHS, especially regarding vaccines, we knew this review, which we co-authored, would be met with skepticism. So, it is worth noting that we, along with most of the other authors, are liberals. While everyone should be concerned when vulnerable populations do not receive appropriate medical care, those of us on the left side of the political spectrum need to pay special attention. This is because many of the organizations and individuals we trust have gotten this issue wrong.

Trump's Department of HHS?

Credibility zero, for the obvious reasons.

Attack the source. The go-to for DR lefties.

Liberals. Riiiiiiiight.

In the way 1Nut is a Chinese, "open borders" liberal.

Danforth,

Do you honestly support chemical castration and surgical mutilation of minors?

" patients receiving unproven interventions"

I've known four people before, and after, transitioning.

To a person, they were tortured souls who never fit into their own skin.

Now, to a person, they're gloriously happy.

Some folks would deny them that chance. I, for one, don't feel like it's my decision.

I believe you're sticking your nose between the child, the parent(s), and the doctors. In situations where you're only to the Dunning-Kruger stage.

This article suggests puberty-blockers should be revisited. Not much more.

Is the concept of medical malpractice foreign to you?

We are talking about minors having life altering chemicals administered and procedures performed.

Not at all. I served on health committees and boards for two decades, and was a Trustee of a health plan.

Meanwhile, you're pretending to know better, without a single iota of education.

And rather than address the specific issue, your answer is ALWAYS to deny any-and-all treatments.

In the board meetings, we'd make you go sit at the little kid's table.

Your answer always is to lop off 11 year old Jonny's dong if he decides to put on lipstick.

Do you even take into consideration the newer evidence being produced that shows just how bad this is for minors and that Scandinavian countries have led the pushback on it?

Of course I do. That's why I said upthread puberty blockers should be revisited.

Do you ever take these folk's torture into consideration? If so, I've yet to see it.

But how about this: what if I call YOUR doctor, and dictate what medical care YOU can receive? Good idea, or not? And do I get bonus points because I don't inquire about any details?!?

You're just embarrassed it's spot-on.

In one case, it's someone who isn't the doctor, patient, or guardian usurping their decisions.

And in the other case, it's someone who isn't the doctor, patient, or guardian usurping their decisions.

Trump's/Whale Head Collector's HHS?

I have to invoke the Donnerboy rule here:

"I need two (2) independent sources from any Trump sycophant for any 'proof' they offer"

... and anything from a Trump sycophant doesn't count as independent.

You didn't address my question. As to what you did say, it's a good argument that unfortunately rests under the assumption that this is sound medicine and it is anything but. Until you address the efficacy of this these procedures FOR MINORS and then answer whether you support ANY health care regulations, the discussion, assuming you are interested in actually discussing this, cannot move forward and becomes circular.

Based on what bona fides of yours?

FFS, all you have is an opinion, and it's that you belong between patient and doctor.

#35 bell boi makes a truly self-righteous statement:

"Until you address the efficacy of this these procedures FOR MINORS..."

Well now, Danforth, looks like Perry "bell boi" Mason has laid down the law against you.

Draw near and enter your plea, Danforth!

But, since he foolishly used the word:

efficacy: the ability to produce a desired or intendedresult ...

... then we must answer honestly:

Yes, with today's medical advances, most procedures, for adults and minors, have been proven to produce a desired or intended result.

That's kind of the whole idea of medical practice: To work out procedures so that they can produce a desired or intended result.

Happy now, bell boi?

Frankly, I'd rather discuss these subjects with folks who are actually knowledgeable about the subject.

You've already claimed 11-year-olds are getting their Johnson's cut off on a regular basis. Do you believe that's the default?!?

Is there something you'd like to share with the class, bell boi?
