"Ayatollah Mohsen Heidari Alekasir suggested the figure chosen to succeed the supreme leader would most probably be someone opposed by Washington.

He said the "Great Satan" " Iran's term for the US " had inadvertently done the assembly "a kind of service" by publicly criticising certain candidates. His remarks appeared to refer to comments by Donald Trump, who said it would be unacceptable for clerics to select Khamenei's son Mojtaba as successor.

"Someone opposed by the enemy is more likely to benefit Iran and Islam," Heidari Alekasir said."

Could be Reich Marshall of Havana too, but I think that's Little Marco's gig.

Iran threatens retaliatory strikes? What are they going to do - drop bombs from flying carpets?

I would assume they would use drones.

Khamenei was selected as a big FUVK YOU to Trump/Netanyahu.

It's Working.

Hereditary Succession is mostly Taboo in Iran.

They are Not a Monarchy, they are a Republic with free Elections except for Supreme Leader, for them it's Election by High Clerics.

Still an ELECTED position.

No Kings in Iran.

The Shah, may he Burn in Hell, was their last HEREDITARY Ruler.

That's the "Democracy" The West wants for Iran. Under the Shah the Secret Police Terrorized everyone for Years.

The Shah was a Tyrant not a President.

they are a Republic with free Elections

Of course there are elections in Iran, it's simply a coincidence the candidate the ayatollah favors always wins.

There's also elections in Russia and North Korea.

Republicans are desperate to bring such "elections" here to America.

We are seeing Republicans attempt rig our elections to repeat such results here in America.

Texas being a shining example of how republicans will cheat in November.

Reports indicate that Iran is indeed mining the Strait of Hormuz. The markets reversed course immediately, with oil spiking again and stocks tanking. Iran's timing here is important: as soon as trump started with the BS about this war ending soon, Iran responded by mining the Strait. That's as clear a "f#$! you" as you see in international relations.

The midterm elections are on Tuesday 3 Nov 2026.

The aiders and abettors in Congress of the ecocide in Iran and our plummeting economy may pay a steep price for letting this happen to America, Iran, and the world.

James Talarico (D) is leading all candidates in Texas and in 2025 Democrat Zohran Mamdani was elected NYC Mayor.
