The push to remove Swalwell may also end up removing other members of congress who have allegations of wrong doing against them.

"The Manhattan district attorney's office on Saturday said it was opening an investigation into Mr. Swalwell, who has denied the accusations "

Isn't 'Push to Expel' premature, given that nothing has been decided in court?
Allegations are inexpensive and readily available. Where's the evidence?.
Besides, the proven situation re: fangfang was much more serious, and it was whitewashed and let go.

What about Tara's accusation?

Still being translated into English from her native Russian.

We can start the expelling at the White House then work it's way to both houses of congress.

Premature? What about what Swalwell was yelling during the Kavanaugh hearings? Blasy Ford said Kavanaugh showed her his weaner when she was 15, she couldn't remember where or when but Swalwell said it didn't matter, she must be believed. He also slept with a convicted chinese spy when he was on the Intelligence committee. WTF? Not only is he a greasy dirt ball but he's
a really dumb greasy dirt ball.

And now democrats are saying investigate and get rid of him if guilty.

Why can't repubs say that about trump?

Sure, if they are de facto foreign agents. Otherwise, being sent something is not a deliberate act.
Heck, any one could send anything to anyone else.
...But if the "footage" were "given out", that would defeat the purpose

Same reason Democrats didn't care when Swalwell was running for President.

they only cared, (and really they don't) when Swalwell got in the way of the Democrat elites' favorite choice. Who happens to be a billionaire who made his money investing in prisons.

No you do the elites bidding yet again, ignoring the stick in your eye.

Sure, if they were present they would have been made public during the Biden administration. I mean it would have been easier than trying to bankrupt, jail or kill him.

Democrats DIDNT KNOW about it then.

But if democrats had seen footage of swallwell bragging about how, for example, he could grab women by the ----- because he's a star, his candidacy would have ended there.

Unlike republicans who proved they will overlook anything and everything.

#14 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2026-04-13 02:28 PM | Reply

George Santos was clearly a liar and fraudster. Republicans spent months blocking any attempt to expel him with many GOP members insisting that an Ethics Committee investigation must first be conducted.
Even after the investigation found substantial evidence that Santos broke House rules and US law more than 100 republicans voted against the expulsion. One of those republicans was Anna Paulina Luna, the Representative who introduced the motion to expel Swalwell.

While I personally feel that Swalwell should resign and I support taking action to expel if he will not step aside, I still have to point out the hypocrisy of the GOP and especially that of Luna.

As a rep Swalwel is still useful to the party so he will be spared. He will only be fully jettisoned if it's a 100% guarantee his seat will go to another Dem.

He suspended his gubernatorial campaign. I haven't seen a congressional resignation nor have I seen any calls for him to resign. And his actions have been an open secret within the power circle for years. They didn't care because their cable news toadies were able to use him as a fierce Trump critic.

He already resigned.

He claims he had affairs but no sexual assault but he doesn't want to put his party through a trial.

And the dem party is saying good riddance.

Showing that they are the party with standards and morals, especially when compared to the russian/epstein side.

Are we supposed to think you care? You support a rapist who has had far more credible charges of assault against him than Swalwell ever dreamed of.

But to bring you up to speed -

"Congress should not tolerate representatives who abuse staff, betray public trust for personal gain, and generally violate their oath of office. Reps. Swalwell, Gonzales, Cherfilus-McCormick, and Mills should resign. If they refuse, they should be expelled." - US Representative (NY-07) Nydia Velasquez (D) - April 13

"If you sexually assaulted someone, you should not be serving in Congress"or as President" US Representative (NM-1) Melanie Stansbury (D) - April 12

"I am sick and tired of watching powerful men in powerful positions be able to get away with sexually abusing and assaulting women...Representatives Gonzales and Swalwell should resign, otherwise, I would vote to expel them." US Representative (WA-7) Pramila Jayapal (D) - April 12

That's just 3 but I could list more.

And then there's this

"In his resignation letter, Swalwell said it would be wrong for fellow lawmakers to expel him "without due process, within days of an allegation being made".
He added: "But it's also wrong for my constituents to have me distracted from my duties. Therefore I plan to resign my seat in Congress." - Eric Swalwell April 13

Democrats cleaned their house in a matter of days after credible allegations surfaced. Meanwhile Trump, who was found by a court of law to be liable for a sex crime, still sits in the White House.

Is his seat being replaced by another Democrat? It's no different than Al Franken or Cuomo. He was discarded WAY after the fact for transgressions party brokers didn't give a crap about.

The reason Santos gets brought up is because the GOP sacrificed a seat. That's not to say the GOP has any morals. They don't. Neither do Democrats. So stop pretending otherwise.

A few minutes ago you were claiming no one called for his resignation and that he would be "spared". Now that you know Democrats immediately called for his removal and he has resigned you are changing your story.

I notice you don't know name a single name of these so-called "party brokers". Give us the name of a single one of them who has come forward and said they heard anything more than rumors.

The fact remains that the Dems immediately kicked an alleged sexual predator to the curb while the GOP elected an adjudicated one to the highest office in the land. Trying to claim the parties ae the same just makes you sound even more stupid and full of crap than you normally sound.
