Although Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) represents the small 14th CD in NYC with approximately 700,000 constituents, like popular and competent NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D), she too has a nationwide following and is an effective member of the "Squad."
AOC Social Media Followers:
Instagram: ~ 9.7 million TikTok: ~ 4.1 million Bluesky: ~ 2.2 million
Genuine Democrats in NYS and America should all be rallying around her.
If AOC chooses not to run for POTUS in 2028, NYS Democrats will also be more than happy to have her replace the unpopular and ineffective US Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY). New Yorkers have had their fill of this dinosaur-- like disgraced ex-Governor Andrew Cuomo -- and the herd of brontosauruses constipating the American body politic.
And thank you, *Killfile* for sparing me from "suffering the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune," which will emanate from the trolls, stalkers, AIPAC-ers, and malcontents on drudge.com.

I think it was OCUser (if not, my apologies) who said years ago, when her name started becoming more known, "When I hear her name, all I can think of is her hair on my pillow."
That'll be my sexist remark for the day, until the next one.

competent and effective NYC Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) is making new moves toward a possible White House bid in 2028.
We had an entire thread where only a single person listed any accomplishments by AOC and even those were paltry.
Y'all have ridiculously low standards and yet seem shocked when it's observed that you're little different than Trumpers.

Sure. End game for a lot (percentage unknown) of politicians want to be Supreme Leader. For wildly different reasons, of course.

By 2028, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will have served nearly a decade in the U.S. House of Representatives. Several past presidents entered the White House with similar or even less traditional political experience. Legislative Experience Comparisons: - Barack Obama: Served only 4 years in the U.S. Senate before winning the presidency. - Abraham Lincoln: Had 8 years in the U.S. House of Representatives and minimal executive experience. - James A. Garfield: Served in the U.S. House for nearly two decades before becoming president. Presidents with No Prior Elected Experience: - Donald Trump: Entered office with zero prior political or military experience. - General Dwight D. Eisenhower: Held no prior elected office before serving as president. While a jump directly from the House of Representatives to the presidency is uncommon compared to the historical preference for state governors or senators, Ocasio-Cortez's tenure as a federal legislator means she would have more prior political experience than several figures in U.S. history.

I fully support her decision and the Democrat party's need to run unelectable candidates. #WorseThanKamala1

An economic system coupled to a political system that cannot get a decent life to poor people owes little to those who counsel "patience". As for me, I will be voting for She and Bernie, or the equivalent..the billionaires have really conducted their own insurrection, and we, the poor are the losers. Screw mars, screw Musk, screw MAGA.

The sad part is that, unbelievable as it is in 2026, America is still too sexist to vote for a woman POTUS.

And also in 2028.

LOL
Obama - successful lawyer and career in civil rights, constitutional law professor, the much maligned community "organizer." Lincoln - laughable comparison Garfield - such an unremarkable POTUS that you probably couldn't tell me something about him without looking it up first
Trump - most appropriate comparison Eisenhower - LOL just LOL

Obama didn't get elected by whining about the racists who wouldn't vote for him. He got elected in spite of cynical statements like that, in relation to skin tone. It was one of the biggest blunders ever for Clinton (and her supporters) to overplay the "woman card" in 2016.

"Obama didn't get elected by whining about the racists who wouldn't vote for him."
Yes he did. It was a key moment in his campaign!
Obama was caught in an uncharacteristic moment of loose language. Referring to working-class voters in old industrial towns decimated by job losses, the presidential hopeful said: "They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
The comments were seized on by his rival for the Democratic party candidacy, Hillary Clinton, who saw in them the hope of reviving her flagging campaign by turning voters in the important Pennsylvania primary on April 22 against what she classed as Obama's revealed "elitism". www.theguardian.com
