US Life Expectancy on Track for Record High
New mortality data from the federal government suggests that life expectancy probably hit another record high in 2025, as death rates have continued to fall since the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Maybe because COVID prematurely killed so many people who were not in the best of medical condition?

New mortality data from the federal government
Data from Trump's federal government is worthless.

I predicted this in the middle of Covid, since we had just come off the opioid crisis, which killed fewer, but younger on average.
"Expect headlines touting surprising gains in longevity" was my prediction.
Straight from macro statistics class.

Now that MAGAts have gutted and infested every department of the federal government can one truly believe the statistics coming out from any of them?
Especially the ones they have rather clumsily politicized in the past?

I'd like to see a competent argument that shows this is not complete bull manure.

We're coming out of not one, but two historic events. First, opioids took out a lot of folks, at a relatively young age. That made the overall longevity averages drop. The next historical blip was Covid: older folks, in general, but many more, particularly those closer to passing anyway, due to age or poor health.
Take those folks out, and voila! All of a sudden, longevity predictions spike.
It's macro math, nothing more.

Have you seen the latest COVID conspiracy video? It was probably AI. I saw it in passin.
Now in this one the government or whomever planned it to eliminate a percentage of the elderly to get rid of the requirement for all those Social Security checks saving SS hundreds of millions. I didn't watch but a couple a seconds so I don't know how deep down that rabbit hole she went with it.

And you would have been wrong, just look at the graph in the article ... https://www.cnn.com/2026/07/02/health/us-death-rate-record-low-cdc-report-longevity
Overdose deaths began increasing in 2020, and declining in 2023. Which match the longevity graph. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/drug-overdose-data.htm
On top of that older people are losing weight via GLP-1 et al drugs. Obesity rates are dropping.
Young aren't drinkin as much... all the Boomer wine&spirits BS is done.
Alcohol consumption is dropping. https://t8ke.com/news/americas-alcohol-consumption-drops-to-90-year-low/

Nothing in the graph you posted disproves my claim.
