Perhaps by the time Trump dies, no one anywhere will trust the US anymore.

The good thing is that once he's dead and after a few years of recovery, the US can start work on regaining a shred of credibility.

And perhaps we can get that world-police bulls#|t off our backs and redistribute money domestically to people that don't have Inc. after their names.

The point is that the credibility isn't that hard to get back.

I think the international community would be willing to grant us some slack, once the US populace gets off the MAGA train, which is going to take much longer. Some cohorts are now a few generations into this thinking, by one name or another.

Imagine being born in 2012 and starting to be aware of the world around 2015-2016.

In four more years those people are (hopefully) voting, because I think a lot of them are going to be looking for a big leftward shift in the US, which would only bring it into the center of world politics.

Judging by the two-person cohort of my millennial, cishet (one childbearing), married, homeowning sons -- one a public school teacher, one inexplicably in corporate America -- both won't tell me to my face that boomers of all societies have ruined the world (it wouldn't take much for them to do so), but there's no doubt they are more radicalized for a wholesale change than people, say, in 1972. Nowadays, they watch the system itself screwing them actively to benefit corporations, for example. And the politicians who take money from those interests.

I don't see people in the 30- to 45-year-old cohort voting like their parents. Much of that youth is losing interest in the Democratic Party because of Israel. And they're not turning right because Trump has taken all the air out of the Republican Party for 11 years now.

So, where to go?

Democratic socialism, one option. Or whatever else might happen.

But death to greedheads, don't mess with little children or people supporting those who do, don't let Americans die supporting companies, don't have a police state that kills with impunity at home, and stop letting people fester in US politics into their 80s.

Ain't that hard.
