The Supreme Court's "shadow docket" allows justices to effectively make rulings in secret without explaining their decisions. Is it any wonder why so many do not trust the Roberts court? https://www.propublica.org/article/supreme-court-shadow-docket-rulings-milestone

Supreme Court Justices may be impeached and prosecuted if we have a Congress with enough honesty and courage to do so. What are the chances of that?

Numbers less than zero on a numbers line, any old numbers line.

Happens when one party rams through 3 Supreme Court justices and they vote time after time to support anything Trump wants.

Happens when time after time they vote to strip Americans of our privileges.

"Rights aren't rights if someone can take them away. They're privileges. That's all we've ever had in this country is a bill of temporary privileges. And if you read the news even badly, you know that every year the list gets shorter and shorter and shorter."

Bought and paid for.

If we want to stop the poisoning of our judicial system, first we have to cut off the head of the snake.

VOTE!

Half of them are in the Epstein files.

It's in their own self interest to assist Trump.

" Didn't Obama leave an appointment on the table for Trump to make?"

No, Mitch McConnell refused to have hearings, saying the electorate should make that decision.

The exact opposite of his ramming through ACB right before Biden took office.

No, idiot.

This is why MAGA will start the political violence eventually.

Even when facing the insurmountable evidence of just how lonely and stupid they are out there on Idiot Ranch, they'll reach for the same old tropes about libruls and CoMmUnIsTz.

And when the conclusion becomes unavoidable, they'll lash out violently rather than accept it.

Aren't you even the slightest bit embarrassed by posting something so exceptionally stupid?

Was there ever a time when you weren't such a pathetic partisan joke?

Not that I can recall.

LOL

I have often argued and do believe that Obama should have just sat Garland on the Court the summer of 2016 arguing McConnell not holding hearings WAS his consent.

The Supreme Court says the President is above the law

The Supreme Court says women don't have the right to bodily autonomy

The Supreme Court will soon rule on Piggy's immigration detention policy

The Supreme Court rescinded the Magna Carta, the foundational document of western democracy

The Supreme Court isn't compromised.

SCOTUS currently has a majority of like minded judges.

FDR established a majority thinking court by choosing Justices for SCOTUS.

The Supreme Court is and always has been biased.

If SCOTUS truly did their job without bias, then nobody should be able to say, "We already know how they will rule."

9-0 decisions are great.

Constant 5-4, 6-3, 7-2 rulings and everyone is on 'their side' means the judges have pre-determined outcomes.

Those six conservatives...one could make a short movie with some of the footage from their nominating Senate hearings where they talked about abortion being "settled law" and then when in place on the Court, took away a woman right to choose...you cannot trust people like Alito or Thomas since they are bought by big money and are as corrupt as any corrupt judge in any court in America.

Americans Democrats have never trusted the Supreme Court less.

Fixed it.

Dems sure loved the Supreme Court until Trump added 3 justices.

They're just sore losers.

Zed,

"Not the sort of thing that would ever trouble BILLJOHNSON."

Not the sort of thing that would ever trouble Democrats if the shoe was on the other foot.

That doesn't justify anything or even prove the accusations are totally accurate.

It does however lose its punch when you know "they would if they could".

Not the sort of thing that would ever trouble Democrats if the shoe was on the other foot.

All facts to the contrary.

Democrats are quick to punish fellow democrats for their misdeeds.

Republicans glorify and celebrate their fellow republicans misdeeds.

The problem with Trumpers like BullJohnson is they're ------- idiots who think they're more clever than they actually are.

Bill. You really are dumb.

You should be embarrassed by how stupid you are.

But you're not smart enough to understand just how much of a joke you are.

Also, the other 29% are happy with the xenophobia, homophobia, racism and transphobia spread by Trump.

Lying piece of shit

Name something even remotely equivalent to declaring the president is above the law that ANY "liberal" court has EVER done

I know you are an ignoramus

But the Magna Carta, the foundation of modern liberal rights was the first document of its kinds to reign in the power of the king.

The Supreme Court said the POTUS now has powers that the Magna Carta denied royals.

You're too stupid to understand

A little history lesson

In the early 13th century the English King John was pissing off his nobles, imprisoning them, making them pay arbitrary taxes and basically acting like the king was above the law

A bunch of nobles got together with the church of england and forced the King to put his seal on it, affirming for the first time in western history

1. the executive (the king) was not above the law, that HE was subject to the restrictions of the MC

2. It stated that free men could not be imprisoned, exiled, or punished without a lawful judgment or a fair trial by their peers

3. It stopped the king from arbitrary seizure of property and taxation

4. It guaranteed a swift and impartial trial

This the basis for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Thomas Jefferson and James Madison used these concepts when drafting the DoI and BoR

They are the spirit of western liberal democracy, the rule of law and the natural rights that we all assume.

The Robert's court is in the process of dismantling these core rights.

The immunity decision places the president above the law. The executive is immune to prosecution, i.e. not subject to laws passed by the Congress and he signs.

The court is hearing a case about Piggy's immigration detention policy and if they allow it will decimate the concept of a swift trial and the concept that free men could not be imprisoned, exiled, or punished without a lawful judgment or a fair trial by their peers

The court stripped the most important parts of the Voting Rights act which will have the effect of disenfranchising millions of American voters

The court equated money with speech denying Americans the ability to have a say in their governance. this was a huge step along the path to oligarchal rule

No, liberal courts are not the same as this radical, fringe, regressive court

" or even prove the accusations are totally accurate."

Clearance Thomas was "sold" a quarter million dollar RV, made interest only payments for a relatively short time, and then stopped making payments. To someone whose businesses have come before the Supreme Court.

" Not the sort of thing that would ever trouble Democrats if the shoe was on the other foot."

This is probably a good time to remind folks when it comes to voter fraud, the Republicans outnumber the Democrats, and the most common reason given for committing voter fraud, when a reason is given, is I thought the other side was doing it.

And I'm not even going to touch the moral implications of we're justified doing it now, because we believe you will do it someday.
