Russia doesn't love Trump. To Mr. Putin he's just a useful tool.

If Trump loses the House, I'll let history be my guide. I predict he'll try to do the same thing to Speaker Jeffries' House that he did to Congress after he lost the 2020 election. He'll bully, threaten families, bribe, intimidate, lie, cheat and otherwise try to force his will on a Democrat controlled House.

Because that's who he is. Nasty to the core. A total Sociopath who doesn't have a thought in his head about anybody or anything other than himself. That's also the reason he's trying to kill democracy in favor of autocracy. Because the high risk of losing is intolerable to the fragile ego of people like himself. It turns him into a total basket case.

Plotting and scheming is also hard work to which people like Trump are adverse.

That's always a possibility, of course, but I was assuming one of Vance's first acts would be a full blanket pardon for all Trump's criminal activity and let the chips fall where they may on civil cases.

Even if Trump didn't resign, he's still subject to subpoenas which I anticipate will be coming in at a rapid pace after the midterms.

I agree, however, that Trump's ego would never let him consider resigning. Trump is more a double-down person which usually gets him in deeper trouble.

Trump might pull a Nixon and resign before he gets impeached. Then we'll be stuck with Peter Thiel's boy toy, J.D. Vance. Not good but at least manageable with a Democrat controlled Congress.

Trump is the snake that has already bit his own base. Once that happens it's next to impossible to sell them another snake.

I listened to Paxton's speech and what I heard was his swan song.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and in Trump's case, a drastic turn-around to try and save his political life, i.e. the loss of power that he treasures even more than money.

This reversal is Trump's admission that he has failed to stir up or enthusiate his once loyal base to return to the fold.

Trump has failed again. Just like he always does. May it be a war or an election, it makes no difference. Everything Trump touches dies.

Yes, I didn't read the thread yet, but it would seem that he's already removing bombers from U.S. Bases in England. That could be a one-off or the tip of the iceberg.

He's also been bellyaching for years about the U.S. carrying the majority of the burden of the NATO's protective umbrella and he wants everybody else to pony up. Some did and some couldn't.

Much like his attempts to utilize Greenland, removing U.S. bombers from U.S. bases in England sound a lot like assisting Russia's advancement plans without committing actual troops and equipment.

I still don't think anybody is going to make any drastic moves until they see who is left standing after the War of the Midterms in November. Can't say that I blame them. Who wants to get caught flatfooted in that trap holding nothing but the promises of a mentally unstable U.S. President?

Yes, I already knew that. I apologize for not being clear.

It was the original joint venture to share world power that I was talking about and also why Trump was so deadset to take the United States out of NATO ~ so the United States would be free of its obligation to help other NATO countries, particularly the Baltic States, who were being attacked by Russia.

It seems like that's the plan that has fallen by the wayside for the reasons I stated above as well as the fact that Trump, who found out the hard way, can't take the United States out of NATO without an act of Congress.
