@#2 ... Tim Cook will be more than happy to oblige the Trump administration and publish more MAGA propaganda. ...

OpEd: As Apple's Cook bows to Trump, Microsoft's Nadella quietly refuses
www.computerworld.com

... Flash forward to today. Apple CEO Cook has proved that he's anything but a rebel. To broadcast his support for Trump and all he represents, he was front and center at Trump's inauguration last year.

Since then, he's been in meetings with Trump multiple times, and praised Trump's "leadership and focus on innovation." He knows that Trump loves bling, so he very publicly gave Trump a gift made in large part of 24 karat gold.

There's more ... and worse.

Only hours after ICE agents murdered Alex Pretti in Minnesota by shooting him in the back 10 times while he lay defenseless on the ground, Cook attended the gala White House screening of the new Melania Trump documentary. All the guests, including Cook, were given commemorative popcorn boxes served by gloved waiters, and a framed screening ticket.

Conservative political strategist Rick Wilson framed the scene succinctly, "If you're a CEO willing to sit in the company of this regime, your 'shareholder value' excuse feels pretty blood-soaked tonight." (Cook did later release a statement calling for "deescalation," saying he was heartbroken over Pretti's death and had spoken to Trump about it.) ...

"Geo Group is "cautiously participating" in the procurement process for running the warehouses and evaluating select sites, the company's greedy executive chairman, good-for-nothing George Zoley, told investors during an earnings call. Retrofitting warehouses to store people might be challenging, he warned. DHS wants to hold as many as 8,500 people in some of the several warehouses it has purchased with American taxpayer funds in Arizona, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Texas.

Geo Group is one of the two biggest companies in the inhumane detention business: Roughly 34% of the people in ICE custody are detained at Geo Group's concentration camps. The Florida-based company says it has space for 6,000 more detainees at its own facilities.

~snip~

In 2019 Geo Group was found to be working detainees for pennies a day and then gouging them $3.25 for a can of tuna and $11 for a tube of toothpaste in the lockup commissary. In 2017, Geo Group executives partied lavishly at Dummkopf Trumpf's Miami golf resort after landing a $110m federal contract. That contract came months after they donated six figures to a pro-Trumpf super PAC.

Many privately-run ICE gulags have been condemned as being filthy concentration camps that dehumanize people in brutal conditions with poor plumbing and sanitation, as well as undernourishment, overcrowding, medical neglect and pestilence. Solitary confinement, still practiced in the US, is considered a harsh and unusual punishment in other countries, but ICE detainees have been subjected to this torture.

The hardworking American taxpayer is funding the abject misery of our fellow man while enriching greedy oligarchs like George Zoley in Dummkopf Trumpf's new Fourth Reich.
