Sure they (we) do but as you say no one is actually in charge.
I was under the impression that the world did not want us policing them or bossing them around anymore and using our economic or military muscles to influence them to be more like us (and buy our stuff).
The Middle East countries definitely don't want to listen to us. And I can't say I blame them after the disastrous and humiliating Trumpy Error.
