Trump Can Hardly Restrain His Jealousy over Harris Campaign's Joy

Stewing in frustration over Kamala Harris' meteoric rise, [Donald] Trump can hardly restrain his jealousy. In a revolting pique of petty, confirming that he would destroy America for his own personal gain, Trump insulted American hostages' release from Russia, praising Putin instead. He then drooled giddy when the stock market tanked last week, clucking, "TRUMP CASH vs. KAMALA CRASH!" but was silent when the market rebounded.

... Despite the large crowd, Harris reminded attendees: "We are the underdog." She added that hard work would be required to win the election, in a short period of time. Harris officially became the presumptive Democratic nominee on Monday and announced her running mate on Tuesday, after Biden withdrew from the election on 21 July.

"I also bring greetings from our incredible president, Joe Biden," Harris said. Earlier in the day the White House had announced Biden and Harris would attend their first joint event since the president pulled out of the race. ...

Republicl0wns haven't had a former president attend their convention since 2004. How do they not see that the party must be having problems?

The Democrats will have 2, and if Carter lives long enough he will be represented... and of course Hillary (boooyaaaa).

Will the Democrats move more towards a "get out the vote" secondary campaign to counter the years-long Republican "suppress the vote of those who we don't like" laws?

Will the Democrats move more towards a "get out the vote" secondary campaign to counter the years-long Republican "suppress the vote of those who we don't like" laws?

Why do you think people volunteer to help any campaign? Ultimately, the vast majority of those people work on GOTV efforts. This is why the staggering jump in volunteers for the Harris/Walz campaign is as important as the amount of their fundraising. Money cannot go door-to-door interacting personally with voters. And paid canvassers don't project a visceral, emotional connection to the candidates like volunteers do.

Both liberal/progressive and unaffiliated groups have been working on a 24/7/365 basis against voter suppression laws/tactics and finding effective counters to the barriers placed between marginalized communities and their ability to vote.

The majority of volunteers will be put to work calling, texting and canvassing likely or registered voters, personalizing the candidate's message and making sure the voter is definitely voting. And if they need transportation to the polls, it will be provided to them by other volunteers on and before Election Day.

I guess the overriding point is that GOTV infrastructures are already in place. They become more effective based on how many people participate in them.

@#11 ... Why do you think people volunteer to help any campaign? ...

You mean, beside ringing doorbells and expounding about their candidate of choice, yeah, usually (in my experience) towards the end of the delivered message is a ~make sure you vote~ encouragement.

... This is why the staggering jump in volunteers for the Harris/Walz campaign is as important as the amount of their fundraising. ...

imo, that is good to see such a jump in participation in the political process.

... The majority of volunteers will be put to work calling, texting and canvassing likely or registered voters, personalizing the candidate's message and making sure the voter is definitely voting. ...

Good. Get registered voters to go to the polls. That is great!

... And if they need transportation to the polls, it will be provided to them by other volunteers on and before Election Day. ...

That is offered by volunteers in my town. Funny thing (or not so funny), when I used that service I asked (as a test) a political question to the driver.

I was told, bluntly, no politics in my vehicle.

That also was great.

#15 | Posted by Twinpac at 2024-08-12 08:52 AM

I can understand why Trump is pixxed. Although he might be smart not to show it. She stole his ideas on tax cuts and borders. The media has given her free reign and let her theft of ideas slide completely without ever challenging any of her complete 180 degree change in opinions from open borders to theft of your medicare for all including illegals. She slid into office without a single town hall or major press conference or public interview by open media interests foreign and domestic. The press has covered for her just as they did for Biden's mental senility and Pelosi's back stabbing him.

The tips thing is a gimmick, mainly, but not the worst I've heard. His "border" idea was to sink border security legislation and to demagogue the issue.

He can keep the rest of the Project 2025 ideas that he totally "knows nothing about." And he can keep the Agenda 47 ideas.

All joking aside (and to be very jaded), the reason Harris held so many extreme liberal views when she was just the VP was because she thought she would need to court the Dem base in a primary fight before she ever got the nomination. As luck would have it however, she was able to skip over that entire process. Now, as the nominee, she can jump straight to being a moderate, mainstream type of gal.

Let's be honest. That is the game all presidential candidate always play. Trump did it. Biden did it. Trump is doing it again. And so is his running mate who used to be a feral anti-Trumper. Harris is doing it. etc...

#20 | Posted by moder8 at 2024-08-12 03:56 PM

#20

Absolutely correct! When a sitting VP is running for President, they're for everything positive that came from their administration and they usually diverge or establish a nuanced position on issues the general public doesn't majorly support.

This is politics 101, and the reason it works is because everyone that understands politics knows the following to be gospel truth: The Vice President's role is to give 100% loyal support to the President, and to stay in the background unless the President gives them an order to undertake the lead in a specified task, often tied to an important policy being sold to the public and Congress.

It's one thing to quote a passage from a stump speech. It's quite another to adopt its verbiage en masse.

Also, did Walz refervto himself as "folksy" because that was used in lockstep too.

No it's not, dumfuq, it's literally the term used in politics.

It's called a "Stump speech" because it's THE speech made on the stump.

And accuracy just goes to the speaker's familiarity and discipline.

It's the addled morons who can't "stick to the script".

JFC. This has gotten absurd. These outlets aren't merely quoting with quotation marks. They are running with a narrative that the Harris/Walz campaign is filled with joy. It's close to an in-kind contribution. And they are doing it in lockstep to an absurd and embarrassing degree.

Journalists choosing sides and an agenda. Crazy!

In the meantime, how can any outlet push the Harris/Walz narrative when the media has been almost completely shut out by both candidates.

Contrast that with the opposition. Trump went on the black journalist conference and held a 70 minute presser. His performance was, at best, mixed. But he did it.

Vance did 3 Sunday shows and has taken numerous questions and from outlets and individuals that were openly hostile (and will give softball treatment to Dems) and he handled it very well.

Trump stole the money he used for "the wall" from funds allocated to upgrade/build new military housing and other programs to benefit active duty personnel.

But, we know he doesn't like or respect vets or active duty personnel (and especially disabled vets).

He only lives in service to himself.

Lets see, Kamala has been too busy holding standing room only rallies all over the swing states, talking to voters, and taking advantage of her incredible momentum. There will be time to sit down for interviews the week of the DNC. All she has to do is come across as not insane, tell fewer than 164 lies in an hour, and she'll trounce Dotard.

The diaper sharter is scared, his self-perceived momentum with black voters was reversed in less than a week, so he goes to NABJ and proves that he is a racist fool. She's riding a massive wave and has erased Bunker Bitch's leads in every swing state and he's incredibly jealous of her crowd sizes, so he calls up some friendly reporters who mostly lob him softballs that he kept fouling off his feet. He came across as unhinged, told 164 lies in just over an hour, lied about his crowd sizes, and the only news was that he reversed himself on the ABC debate, because by the end of the DNC she will be lapping him.

Harris/Walz drew about 20k in AZ, Dotard couldn't even fill a 9000 NCAA 1AA basketball gym in ruby red MT, and those that did show were streaming out half way through, because he BORING. It's always the same OLD show full of grievance and lies. He's like an old comedian who can't come up with new material and has overstayed his welcome at the Chuckle Hut. Next stop, the Federal Rest Home for old criminals.

At what point do we talk about actual policy?

You first. Please list policy details from the Repubican platform. Let's make it easy: just choose ONE policy that you can clearly state the defined policy, backed by an actionable plan. It cannot be vague, like "DJT has a good relationship with dictators," or "He'll close the open borders." Actual, meat-on-the-bones policy, a desired outcome, who it benefits and a detailed plan to achieve success.

That would be awesome!
