A Government by Toxic Men, for Toxic Men

Noah Berlatsky: Throughout his campaign for president, Donald Trump promised his followers that he would use his power to harm those he, and they, consider enemies.

You people worship the Old Gods. There's no talking to you.

People will come around to our side just as soon as inflation hits the roof. And unless that porker drops dead of a coronary that's bound to happen. He insists.

The funny thing about inflation is that you can't suppress that information unless you want to repress the sale of groceries.

I've been away writing a book about people like you. I want to at least try to explain the low-rent anti-christ and his minions to my great-grand children.

No, we don't need people like you on our side. Hell is no place for honest folk. You're welcome to it.

#3 | Posted by Zed at 2024-11-26 09:54 AM

KWRX, hardly. I think you are about to get the government you deserve. You are about to get it good and hard. When you bitch about it, we'll be here to remind you who and what you voted for.

I don't want you on my side. I don't want to be allied with sex predators and criminals.

Most of us know we will never convince Trump voters. They don't consider arguments or facts; they just listen to right wing propaganda and believe as if it the Gospel truth. It has been this way forever. America has always had large numbers of poorly educated people who right wing demagogues can easily get to believe anything they want. Not too long ago it wasn't Trump; it was George W. Bush and his insane invasion of Iraq. Same people defending Trump today were defending Bush back then. Nothing really ever changes. The names change and the topics change but it is always the more educated trying to convince the less educated who are being manipulated by some snake oil salesman on radio or TV. And those snake oil salesmen demonize the other side using emotional pitches appealing to feelings about religion, their sense of somebody getting something for nothing, patriotism, etc. Right now it is tariffs and deporting migrant labotors and both ideas will be disastrous for our economy. And you're wrong, we know why we lost. Trump's voters want to "shake up government but their ideas for doing so will just create economic disaster. Bush did the AME THING AND it caused the worst rexession since 1929! Now Trump has some simplistic ideas about tarriffs and deporting immigrants. Tarriffs will just make everything more expensive and midwest farmers are already alarmed that Trump will deport the labor they need to plant and harvest their crops. Same stupid merry go round of stupid people looking for simplistic solutions to comple issues. If that sounds condescending well get over yourself, it's still the truth.

It is sad to think that the price of hamburger was sufficient cause to get that evil orange clown elected.

I like hamburgers. But not enough to sell my pride as an American for one.

The mistake Biden made had little to do inflation. The big mistake he made was not understanding that MAGA is playing a zero-sum game with their own country. This is why they like Putin so much, a man also playing a zero-sum game with the United States.

For those who don't know, a zero sum game=war.

The Kremlin is on record cheering the re-election of Trump as being the demise of the American state.

And it's still hilarious that you would reduce this election down to the price of a hamburger.

KWRX25 reminded you in #1 of tripling down on this stupidity. You and your party are insulting everyday Americans with this "hamburger" nonsense as inflation outpaces their savings.

#9 | Posted by lfthndthrds at 2024-11-26 10:39 AM

I tried having a discussion with Boaz last week.

I could not get him to admit even one simple fact-that the former president is a rapist.

I posted links about the case, I posted links to quotes from the trial judge, I posted facts about the incident, I posted the logic of how defining someone as such can be based on a court's decision.

No matter the facts, he refused to admit that the former president was a rapist. He denied the judge said what he said, he denied the results of the lawsuit, he denied the authority of the court.

The fact is simply true that the former president was found liable for sexual assault in an American court that the judge overseeing the case characterized as rape as understood in common vernacular.

So, go ahead and explain to me how democrats failed. How electing a rapist as president isn't the triumph of toxic masculinity.

Go ahead and present a path forward to get people so devoid of morals that they voted for a rapist to change

Explain how it is possible to change the minds of people so stubbornly ignorant.

I'll wait for an answer.

Just how bad is your life?

You must be one miserable suck.

I have lived thru many different presidencies. My last four years here on earth in America in California were really not that bad. I have lived thru much worse financial times.

Compared to today, the 1980s were characterized by significantly higher inflation rates, a more prominent Cold War tension, a vastly different technological landscape with limited access to personal computers and a more conservative political climate. As for immigration we had problems then too but at least Congress was able to pass immigration reform laws.

But we had our MTV!

And thankfully now I don't have to wear bell bottom jeans and blue suede shoes anymore. That was awkward!

I am quite well, I will do quite well over the next 4 years, my loved ones will do quite well, rest assured.

Unless that is, the incoming president chooses to target me for harassment. A long shot but distinctly not a zero chance outcome.

People who voted for him, will not be doing well, it is as predictable as the disaster that occurs during every republican presidency for the last many years.

I, of course, am intelligent enough to see what he is doing and what that portends.

If the man does what he says he will do.

No one mentioned criminality.

He was found liable for what the judge stated was rape, as understood colloquially.

So, we have you denying the fact.

We have you attempting to insert irrelevant facts.

You attempt to distract with a timing issue-as if that changes the facts.

You attempt to denigrate the accuser to imply she wasn't raped.

Then you insult her.

See, these are all examples of what I mean, stubborn ignorance.

He was found liable in an American court for raping a woman. All of your distractions, lies and misstatements do not change that simple fact.

#58 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2024-11-26 01:38 PM

I just want to point out that I demonstrated the problem facing America and the democratic party yet again.

We live in separate realities.

When faced with simple irrefutable facts, the ex-president's supporters stubbornly deny reality. A simple irrefutable fact that SHOULD have been automatically disqualifying for a presidential candidate (a fact among many that should have disqualified him).

When shown this reality, they deny, deny, deny and then simply run away. (and yes, I recognize that the person I am debating in this thread is a troll, the problem is it is often impossible to distinguish between trolls and people who voted for the ex-president)

That is the crux of the problem.

It is not the message, or the messenger or the messaging, it is not the candidate, it is not left wingness, or centristness, or policies, or demographics.

The problem is people who will simply not accept reality.

As a result, the elected a rapist, a conman, an insurrectionist, a thief, the-by far most corrupt person to ever hold high office.

It is moral bankruptcy of the highest order.

Until this can be solved I don't know of any action that the democratic party can do to change things.

Fortunately, disaster has a way of breaking through such stubbornness for reality does not come lubed.

I have a hunch that you're correct.

#68 | Posted by LauraMohr

Absolutely NOT.

I received no contact from anyone regarding my posting.

I have not changed my posting as a result of any request from RCADE or anyone about what I was posting.

I decided that the way I was posting was temporarily counterproductive.

Needless to say, my feelings and judgement on those who have voted for the former president hold true. In that I have not changed at all. I will upon my own judgement refer to them in the manner they deserve.

And for those who think I am lying; I will say that I still find people who voted for ------- to be magat scum. I find people like eb who voted for enablers of Dobbs and who are pedantic ----- to be vile pieces of ----.

No, I have not changed, I am, however able to vary my tactics.

And no eb, I have not unplonked you, you ------- -------, I saw Laura's comment

#69 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-11-26 02:55 PM

Zed, you might want to take the Rob Reiner approach and check yourself into a facility for a cooling off period (I'm not being sarcastic or mean with that either). KWRX25 is only speaking the truth and telling you how you guys are alienating the absolute ---- out of the normies.

I'll also refrain from the taunting on Trump winning. But my god get a grip dude.

As a follow-up to Clownshack ... This is my last post until 2025.

Maybe the party that worships the monster should take the first step. Instead they're crowing about how they're about to get their revenge on everyone who didn't join the cult.

I think baseless accusations like that come from......that's right...you guessed it.....pendantic ----- and pieces of ----.

and I think everyone here agrees with me on this issue.

Your normies aren't very normal.

You people have been alienated for all of your dismal lives.

If we thought that being nice to you might help you be nice to us, we'd do that.

But there's no evidence for that at all. The truth is that you belong to a squalid, destructive movement.

No it won't help things one whit, but we'll be glad to remind you each and every time your Messiah hurts you.

Normies are low political info, sometimes voters who's source of journalistic news and information has been garbage-ified into a Corporate Takeover, sponsored by their invasive and leading and fake ads.

Voters don't know what to believe because they don't really have good sources of what's going on... because they haven't got the time or maybe the inclination to do a little research and fact checking for themselves.

Of course, this was The Plan of the far-right all along, from Limbaugh, to Murdock, to Gingrich; fracture the faith of people in their news media, and divide them.

The Corporate Conqueror's Plan, ingeniously using low and middle class votes to give us things like Citizens United and the reality that Money IS Speech and Lawmakers are For Sale, no matter how much it shouldn't be.

The People are the owners and should own the Lawmakers here, not the Corporations who have been given Personhood under the Law by false pretenses.

The result, of course, is a billionaire corporate President *and criminal traitor... and Party that owe everything they have to the Corporations, not to the People.

Trump isn't the Cure, he's the Poison.

You are alienating yourself.

And also as the minority party YOU did not back down.

What on earth makes you think democrats will?

Like trump saying biden would crash the stock market?

Liberals aren't like conservatives. We aren't willing to burn down our whole apartment building because we hate our next door neighbor.

We'd rather get them evicted for just cause by legal means. But that requires a functioning legal system which we no longer have.

Very bad things will happen over the next four years, and quite independently of anyone's wished.

To hope that Trump, who had one failed presidency, will be somehow better this time is foolish.

Bout foolishness is the bread and butter of many. The rest of us are along for their ride.

One of the things wrong with the US is the lack anymore of a common culture. Most people under 45 will be drawing a blank. You might as well mention Captain Kangaroo. Or Shari Lewis.

That being said, like any organism, hopefully the US population is capable of evolving its common culture, instead of watching it splinter.

"You're not out of touch with everyday Americans, You're playing with a political football, because you ego out runs your level of intelligence."

So, what you are saying, is that you can't get a better job? You want a socialist state to take control of the means of production and lower your expenses because you can't better yourself to earn more money? Currently, the US economic model is capitalism, you prefer communism?

Well last time he got a half million americans killed with incompetence during a crisis and then ended the peaceful transition of power.

Yes I'm expecting worse this time.

Thank you! I was looking for that on my bingo card.

#92 | Posted by sentinel at 2024-11-26 09:23 PM

@#10 ... How electing a rapist as president isn't the triumph of toxic masculinity. ...

I remember a family member (an in-law) talking at a Thanksgiving Dinner at my parents' house a number of years ago.

He was from Florida.

After talking for a few minutes about how [the n-word used in plural] are too stupid to survive, he went on to note that he views the job of women to be ~barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen preparing dinner for me.~

So, toxic masculinity is out there.

I know that I've told you that. The first blows will be economic. The first people to feel them will be, overwhelmingly, Trump's people. I think that we'll see that within the first year.

The second wave of blows will be political. Putin is now the most powerful man on earth.

The third blow will be war. The person Trump is most like is Putin, and Putin sacrificed 750,000 of his countrymen in war without blinking an eye. Trump is that reckless, and he is that cold.

Americans appear to think that crazy is something just seen on TV or in movies. Madness, insanity is a real thing. It's killed off entire countries. We have a MAGA politician publically statting that germs do not exist, for God's sake. What can come of such bloody-minded delusion?

Another million or so Americans dead, along with one-third of the population conflating vaccines for demons? We saw it four years ago.

Being relaxed about fascism does not make you cool. Or straight.

#95 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2024-11-27 12:48 PM

I have developed my own theory about why many Americans voted for Trump. It is not about "deplorables". It is about discontent, a sense of personal stagnation amidst the feeling of overwhelming social change. A feeling that as a nation we are collectively undergoing a massive public transition we neither understand nor feel comfortable about. A deep feeling among people that some course change is needed, though none of us agree on what it should be. Really, in the final analysis, a yearning for the old status quo.

There will always be morons and -------- such as kwrx and LHT. But magat outliers and paid trolls are not the explanation for Trump. They are the toxic fringe.

#96 | Posted by moder8 at 2024-11-27 02:51 PM

The reason Trump was elected... twice... should be self-evident. America is no longer exceptional. America now stands as one in a long line of global powers that ruled for a while, and then staggered under the colossal weight of its own hubris, and decayed while another power prepared to assume the role.

The words of the Constitution are now effectively meaningless-- perhaps they once had real meaning to most people, and then, after that, they were looked upon by some as having some meaning, but now, they are simply a bunch of words that have no meaning and are used by one group of people in an attempt to dominate another. You cannot live long under a set of documents outlining legacies and laws that that your highest levels of leadership will either circumvent or ignore altogether whenever it suits them.

Trump represents that decay. But they decay does not stop with him and his party; it is to be found in the other party as well. Perhaps more so. The Democrats and Republicans are like two legs of a body that has fallen into quicksand. One leg seeks to extricate itself at the expense of deepening the other leg, but by doing so, it inevitably dooms the whole.

I have developed my own theory about why many Americans voted for Trump. It is not about "deplorables". It is about discontent

Bull ------- ----

It is nothing more than an electorate that is morally bankrupt.

Parents, schools, churches, society, culture, etc. etc. etc. failed, and continues to fail it's populace, by their inability to instill the most basic of human ethics, like don't vote for a rapist.

---- people's discontent, don't vote for a rapist.

A rapist is pretty much the lowest of the low, maybe a------------ is lower (like the almost AG), so you don't vote for them

---- stagnation, don't vote for a rapist.

---- the unmeasurable change, don't vote for a rapist.

---- the yearning, don't vote for a rapist.

This is ---- you should have learned in kindergarten.

Then again 20% of Americans cannot read at a 5th grade level, these are people who are stumped by Goosebump books.
