Whats the over/under on these guys just deserting and running as soon as they get the chance?

The Russians will use them as bullet sponges.

Many Asian grunts in the Red Army who showed up in Budapest in 1956 to stomp on the Hungarian Revolution asked locals where the Suez Canal was; they'd been told their destination was Egypt. Maybe these guys think they're going to the Moon. Quien sabe?

Is this really any different than what NATO is doing?

I don't see much to be surprised about.

Intel. Satellite targeting services. Mercenaries. Billions of dollars of aid. Sophisticated weapons systems, all manner of assistance.

The only thing Ukraine isn't getting is "officially" affiliated NATO troops.

So yeah, no real difference.

If anything the Russians are receiving far less help from Allies.

Let me try again...

Is NATO sending troops into Russia?

Is North Korea sending advanced weapons to Ukraine? Is North Korea sending billions of dollars to Ukraine?

Is North Korea controlling the Russian State?

So many questions. Do you have any answers.

Is NATO sending troops to Ukraine?

At this point in time to my knowledge, not "officially".

France and the Baltics could be cheating tho'.

Does that count?

So, the answer to my questions seems to be "no."

OK.

Now, is North Korea sending troops to Ukraine?

The answer to that question, according to the cited article, is "yes."

What I keep in mind is that it is Pres Putin who is engaged in an unprovoked invasion of a sovereign Ukraine.

So, North Korea troops helping Russia within sovereign Ukraine is quite different, and quite a potential escalation, than your imaginary NATO troops in Ukraine helping Ukraine to defend its sovereign territory.

This will only incentivize South Korea to respond in kind... you know, the guys with the World's Sixth Largest Military.

Oh, and there's this:

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) " A suspected hypersonic missile launched by North Korea exploded in flight on Wednesday, South Korea's military said, as North Korea protests the regional deployment of a U.S. aircraft carrier for a military drill with South Korea and Japan.

Which is, I hear, typical of many NK weapons in general.

Pres Putin seems to be quite concerned were that to happen...

Putin warns South Korea against arming Ukraine (June 2024)
www.bbc.com

... Vladimir Putin has warned South Korea it would be making "a big mistake" if it arms Ukraine in the war against Russia.

His comments come after Seoul said it was considering such a possibility, in response to Russia and North Korea's new pact to help each other in the event of "aggression" against either country.

Moscow "will... [make] decisions which are unlikely to please the current leadership of South Korea" if Seoul decides to supply arms to Kyiv, Mr Putin told reporters on Thursday. ...

NK soldiers will go anywhere for a meal, even if it's a beet and cabbage salad, which is better than grass clippings and shoe laces. The first NK soldiers going over to the Ukrainian side will happen a day or two after their arrival, drawn to the west by the smells of freshly-baked bread and rotting Russians...

That's really brave of the Norks to let soldiers leave the country.

There is a good chance that if they survive they may decide not to come back after they find out what's really going on outside the borders of their closed hermit country.

The Norks either surrender fast or Ukrainians are going to make sure they die fast.

One wonders how much info is getting to the Russian public about the alliance with a truly dangerous dictatorship, not that it matters I suppose. The Russian people are locked into a dictatorship that they cannot control.

Obviously this is the result of having a clueless senile fool in WH who foolishly refused to negotiate an end to this Ukraine fiasco before it began. End wars before they start. Zelensky played the wrong cards. Now we'll have the western world involved against China Russia and others because of leftist Marxist fools like Virginia Nuland and an appointed comedian.

PS: George W Bush and same foreign lobbyists were responsible for the same stupidity in Iraq in 2003 and for failing to prevent 9-11. USA is running out of trillions thanks to treasonous political fools obedient to foreign interests masquerading as allies instead of clearly putting only USA first.

What are you dull? What negotiations? Putler demanded this and demanded that. He invaded Crimea with his "little green men" who were Special Forces soldiers, intelligence operatives and other specialist of the fascist type and you expected the democrat government of Ukraine and its innocent citizens just to bend over and take it like obviously you would if someone invaded your country? Right? Who the hell are you to tell them what to do? What is that you people do not understand about this war? Ukrainians want nothing to do with Russia anymore much like the Baltics, Poland, Georgia, Romania Germans, Czechs and dozens of other ex soviet slave states and yet here you are thinking they should all just give in and go back living the terror, enslavement, rape and murder of the Russian boot? Ask any of these citizens of these countries what they think of living under the Russian yoke again and you might get smacked for asking such stupid ----.
