Two loyal allies of Donald Trump are feuding over a bigoted post about Kamala Harris' Indian heritage, the latest sign of discord among MAGA surrogates as the former president seeks to regain his lead in the presidential race.

I don't think it's racist as much as just plain stupid. The fact that Indian folks eat a lot of curry is a fact that is neither racist or an insult. (I had a woman friend who was dating an Indian guy and she told me his ---- tasted like curry).
What I don't understand is why she thought it was an insult. So what. If the President had an Italian spouse I imagine the WH would smell like garlic and olive oil. Merely pointing out a cultural fact is only insulting to stupid people.

Because it's mentioned in a derisive context to draw the distinction that Indians are different in a negative sense compared to 'real Americans' which they always falsely presume to monolithically represent.

You cannot analyze the comments from a neutral standpoint because the person making the comments is not neutral, she's an avowed bigot and unrepentant supremacist, and her goal is to promote the 'otherness' of Harris as a negative compared to her opponent's unspoken superiority representing their non-inclusive vision of the 'real America'.
