Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, October 27, 2024

Jamelle Bouie: Donald Trump's inroads - however large or modest they might be - with young men are less striking than Kamala Harris's enormous lead with young women. The gender gap among young voters is as large as it has ever been. According to the Harvard poll, 70 percent of likely voters among young women of color favor Harris, as against 15 percent for Trump.

The gender gap among young women has not inspired the same level of analysis and deep focus as has the gender gap with young men. Even a close reader of election coverage may forget for a moment that this is the first presidential election since the Supreme Court's decision on Dobbs more than two years ago. If there were ever an election in which to focus on the political behavior of young women, it's this one.
And more women vote than men.

Roevember is almost here.

Women stand to lose far more than men if that Fascist gets back in power and no one should forget what he said anout President Xi's "President for life" position. The Fascist adores dictators all over the world, no one should forget that! He does think he is going to be our dictator for life and one of his idiot sons after he's gone.

Black women have always been the Democrat's most loyal voting block after only the dead. However, Dems have lost Black men this time around, hence the Obama 'shame tour'. I don't think that will be effective. However, convincing black men that they have an obligation to support a half Indian/half Irish woman from a slave owning family raised in Montreal would be one hell of a sales job.

Fools - Life Sucks Then You Die (1985)
www.youtube.com

Lyrics excerpt ...

...
My house burned down in a flash of thunder
My wife ran off with a one-legged plumber
My crops fell dead when the riverbed went dry
My dog got squashed by a pickup truck
My son ran away and got hooked on drugs
My daughter's knocked up by the class of '85

People say that life is good
It don't seem good to me
I'm lost without a paddle
And I'm headed up ---- creek
People say that life is fun
But I don't know why
As far as I can tell
Life sucks then you die
...

I think VP Harris will win decisively.

Trump's ceiling is about 47%, tops.

He hasn't done anything to grow his support and continues to say and do things that alienate voters.

Kamala is down by 31.8% in the betting markets. Basically, Dems are counting on the polls being 100% accurate this cycle or they will lose both the EC and popular vote.

" Dems are counting on the polls being 100% accurate this cycle "

Then they're wrong.

Current polling doesn't reflect The Dobbs Effect.

Every vote since Dobbs has eviscerated the polling. The KS women's rights vote polled 47-46; results were 61-37.

Same in OH and AL: a pair of "lefty" wins which defied the polls.

And most recently, OH06, a Trump +29 district, which Rs won, but only by 8-9 points.

NONE of the polls predicted Dem strength.

And nowadays, outlets make more money if they pretend the race is closer than it actually is.

"Current polling doesn't reflect The Dobbs Effect."

Well, considering 2022 included the Dobbs decision and polls were accurate, this seems like and incorrect statement to make.

"Every vote since Dobbs has eviscerated the polling."

Then how do you explain 2022 polling accuracy?

"And most recently, OH06, a Trump +29 district, which Rs won, but only by 8-9 points."

I believe it is more likely to see a Trump +29 district WHEN TRUMP IS ON THE BALLOT. You see, there seems to be a big difference between Trump supporters and GOP supporters. Unlike the lockstep Dems, Trump voters are just as likely to be disgusted by a RINO as a Dem.

"And nowadays, outlets make more money if they pretend the race is closer than it actually is.

Well, other than the space-time continuum. Of course, you can go ahead and prove that someone has invented a time machine which allows events to take place out of their historical timeline, but I put that challenge to you. I am not saying that such a time machine is not possible (although most theories state time only moves in one direction), but I just don't know of the existence of any such machine.

Danforth,

I think this election will be very close but I think Harris will win.

Having said that, when I'm looking at the behavior of the 2 campaigns what I see is the Harris campaign looking desperate and the Trump campaign looking confident and looking like they are having fun.

To me that suggests internal polling for both campaigns shows Trump with the edge. But again, I really do think the polling is not reflective of reality - that Harris will win.

I imagine based on the internal polls (which directly impact the betting markets), Trump is expected to win by a few % along with all the swing states. The main component of election anxiety for the Trump supporters is how much will the Democrats cheat in this election. Straight up, Trump blow out. If it takes 14 days to count and we have burst pipes at the counting stations, the confidence in Trump winning plummets.

These days the difference between votes and ballots has become concerning.

Having said that, if the GOP can't learn and adapt and match what the DNC does they have no business being a major party.

As for me, I will vote in person on Election Day because it is the most secure way of voting.

I bet the DNC now wishes they'd have gone the primary route with this rather than anointing the hen. Besides being shallow, she's not even likable. She's been booed 2-3 times at her own rallies and she doesn't know what to do with it. You can tell when she gets uncomfortable and doesn't know what to say, she starts that cackling laugh and it's cringe AF.

As someone who's voted Democrat before, I put her in the same category as Hillary Clinton - A hard no. But here we are, and the DNC is trying to muscle their schitty candidate on the country once again.

Kamala Harris Campaign Chair Spots Turnout Detail That Explains Why 'We're Very Confident'

Jen O'Malley Dillon, the chair of Kamala Harris' 2024 presidential campaign, explained on Sunday why she believes the Democratic nominee will emerge triumphant over GOP rival, former President Donald Trump.

"We feel very good about where we are, we are very confident we are going to win this thing," O'Malley Dillon told MSNBC's Jen Psaki.

It's going to be a "close race," she acknowledged. But Harris, she continued, still has "multiple pathways" to the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House and is "on track" for victory.

"We are seeing high turnout everywhere. We are definitely seeing that our voters are turning out," she said, adding there are more Democratic low-propensity voters currently showing up than Republican ones.

"Just in the last two days in Clark County in Nevada, for instance, where Las Vegas is, we have seen higher youth turnout in the last two days than we have seen at any other point this cycle," she noted. In Michigan, meanwhile, O'Malley Dillon said "we had 145,000 voters vote early just yesterday alone."

"So we really like what we are seeing. We are seeing strong turnout. Our margins are strong, and the folks that we're focused on, those lower propensity voters that don't always vote, they are tuning in and showing up at a high-level in support of the vice president," she added.

Wow, actual data informing a prediction instead of blind misogyny, racism and bigotry. Go figure.

She isn't booed at her own rallies. That's rather uninformed to say. We have protests that do happen from time to time. We're no different than Trump in that regard.
Where there have been protests from some protesters, she responds joyfully with "Oh! You want the smaller rally down the street!" and the entire audience and her laugh. It's quite fun, and a great response on her part.

So different than Trump's hate-filled "beat the crap out of them!" response.

And you think you bring that up here helps you? Seriously?

" I will vote in person on Election Day because it is the most secure way of voting."

White privilege in a nutshell.

In-person voting is the easiest to control. If you've noticed, the only 4-7 hour waits are in minority districts. We've also seen construction and speed traps on main routes and thoroughfares.

Mail-in voting results in the largest participation, which Republicans absolutely don't want.

Meanwhile, some state just discovered (at least) 18 legal voters purged ...

..which, no doubt, is MORE voters than the number convicted in their state during the last quarter-century.

The booing was because some people came expecting Beyonce to perform.

When Beyonce left without singing, some people booed.
That's a hell of a lot different than saying "Besides being shallow, she's not even likable. She's been booed 2-3 times at her own rallies and she doesn't know what to do with it."
