Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, March 12, 2025

A growing international move to boycott the US is spreading from Scandinavia to Canada to the UK and beyond as consumers turn against US goods. Tesla sales are falling; and apps and online groups are springing up to help consumers choose non-US items. While boycotts have been a familiar tactic in the past " targeting apartheid South Africa and the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories -- what is striking is how quickly the second Trump administration has become a target for both consumer anger and ethically minded companies.

Group members hope the boycott can effectively pressure the US administration, and use the platform to share alternative buying options.

So much winning! We will never tire of it!

Meanwhile, the US economy, and those trapped in it, will find out what it means to lose out. At this rate El Rey Dotardo II will see his invitation to visit Great Britain rescinded, because, well, King Charles--who is a real king--will be busy in his garden that day, or some such left-handed reason. With his criminal convictions, Dotardo may not be able to gain entry to many other countries. Which is good for others...

If Trump were a smart man, a good man, an honest man, or even pass for a human being at all, none of this would be happening.

Republicans are getting what they voted for.

This is what it looks like when America abandons our leadership role in the world.

I suppose Republicans thought there wouldn't be any negative consequences to America abandoning our leadership role in the world.

In Canada, shoppers walk down the aisle, pick up a product and if it says "USA" on it they turn it upside down on the shelf so other consumers know to avoid them.

If Trump were a smart man,

He started this trade war over terms HE NEGOTIATED in USMCA.

He either never read it, didn't understand it or didn't care. My guess is all three.

This is the jenius businessman you idiots elected.

Trump and his pals are making billions by manipulating the stock market. All at the expense of insignificant Americans like retirees and the like. Pretty smart if you ask me.

GOOD. We deserve it for our leaders arrogance.

#8 - Musk is panicked. His stock is in the gutter. He even has tRump selling fElon's Teslas on the White House grounds (absolutely illegal). tRump - the same moron that used to hate electric vehicles. The benefit of having tRump as pRezident is it keeps Vance from doing even more harm. That man is evil.

Seriously, don't you think that the majority of them don't think more than twenty-four hours ahead?

And that at the end of those twenty-four hours they only see puppies and rainbows?

Are you ready for that pain Trump now tells you to expect. MAGA? Are you ready not to pay your bills? Not go on vacation? Lose your home?

Trump says that you need to detox, that it will be good for you. You are being expected to go cold turkey.

Countries have always wanted a real reason to hate the United States. Now they have one.

Republicans, remember: You asked for this. Given the choice between a dozen solid conservatives and one Clinton-supporting con artist and game-show host, you chose the con artist.
You chose him freely. Nobody made you do it.

Jimmy Carter said the same thing.
