Young Americans are supporting the Republican Party in greater numbers, a new poll has found, highlighting a large divide among people aged under 30.

... According to a new Yale Youth Poll, a survey affiliated with the Yale Institution for Social and Political Studies, voters aged 18 to 21 lean Republican by 11.7 points when asked who they would support in the 2026 Congressional elections, while voters aged 22 to 29 favored Democrats by 6.4 points.

Why It Matters

Young people traditionally vote for Democrats in elections, but a conservative shift among Gen Z voters helped President Donald Trump secure the keys to the White House in November 2024. If this trend is sustained, partisan realignment could hamper the Democrat's chance of success in future elections and bolster the Republicans instead, reshaping American politics. ...

They are frustrated with Dems doing nothing and, even though Republicans are worse, at least they pretend to care and give them some bogeymen to blame (ie immigrants, LGTBQ, terrorists, and Dems).

Dems are lost. The country is lost. And Dems won't change because they are too beholden to corporate donors, old politicians, and terrible messaging.

Even Harris, that idiot, changed her messaging in September away from attacking Corporate America to protect her donors.

I've given up on the country and am now just enjoying watching it go down in flames.

Young people are overwhelmingly stupid today if they think republicans care about young people other than their vote.

Democrats clearly don't and don't even try. So they go wherever at least makes them promises.

In some respects, it is looking to me like the Democrats are starting to wake up.

At the local and state levels the old guard looks to be out, and a younger generation seems to be stepping in.

Will the 2026 elections show the results of this awakening?

Or will the Democrats just fall back to sleep?

Time will tell.

Lost, on purpose, by Republicans.

From the other Newsweek AtlasIntel polling link: "Among 364 respondents aged 18-29, the poll shows that Trump has an approval rating of 52.7 percent, with 47.3 percent disapproving. This gives the president a net approval rating of plus 5.4 percentage points among Gen Z."

364 people are the evidence for this Newsweek assertion.

I wonder how they feel since Independence Day?

There's a corresponding increase in "religious" (fundamentalist fervor of a specific flavor that caters to men dominating women) that's extremely "hot" among young males these days.

I say that because I found the poll and there are no published cross-tabs. There is no breakdown of those polled by sex or gender. It's hard to draw any conclusions other than Vance is really, really, really, hated and Trump is really, really hated.

I wish there was more information.

It found that Vice President JD Vance was the most popular figure among Republicans with a net favorability rating of +65 overall and +54 among Republican voters under the age of 30. Over 53 percent of Republicans would support Vance if he stood in the 2028 GOP primary, the poll found.

Class warfare worked. Identity politics didn't.

All dems have to do is say "Living Wage" and "Medicare for All" and they would win. But they will never let that happen. Look what they did to Bernie. Seth Rich died for you!

Under Trump they get tariffs and no illegal immigration, and that means domestic jobs. Also, white heterosexual men don't buy into woke bs, and are tired of being told that everything about them is evil.

Polls Suggest That Native Americans Voted For Trump. The Truth May Be More Complex. (November 19, 2024)
www.yahoo.com

... An exit poll conducted by Edison Research in the wake of the 2024 Presidential Election indicated that 65 percent of American Indians voted for Donald Trump. The poll, circulated by various national news organizations, and widely cited through NBC News' exit poll page, sparked intense discussion, becoming fodder for right-wing talking heads to point to a surge of Native American support of Trump across the country.

The data, however, paints far from a complete picture. American Indians represented only one percent of the total voters surveyed, meaning that less than 300 self-identified Native American individuals were counted to represent the approximately 3.1 million registered Native American voters in the United States.

Notably, according to Native News Online, none of the exit poll locations were conducted on Tribal land. ...

March 21, 2009 I knew this would come someday.

"Politics is like a big pendulum. Oftentimes, politics is simply responding to the current problems of the day.
The US will follow more liberal concepts until "we" are tired of that and we want more conservative values to dominate Washington."

Posted by BillJohnson at 2009-03-21 12:09 PM

Much of the problems we face today were caused by liberalism. Too permissive. Too quick to tear down traditions without understanding why they exist. Too willing to trade self-discipline for indulgence, responsibility for victimhood, unity for identity politics and enabling the very worst of human nature.

We were told it was progress but they lied.

When people can no longer speak freely without fear, when institutions meant to educate instead indoctrinate, when crime rises without consequences, when families crumble and no one dares address the root of the problem, that's when the pendulum begins to swing back.
