Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, April 21, 2025

Two teenage girls from Germany were detained, arrested, and deported at an airport in Hawaii after immigration officials said it was suspicious they had not booked a hotel room. But despite having ESTA travel authorization, immigration officials accused them of attempting to enter the U.S. to work illegally, and they were placed in handcuffs and taken to a nearby detention center they later learned was a deportation facility. Upon arrival, they were subjected to full-body scans, strip searches and forced to wear green prison jumpsuits, German outlet Ostee Zeitung reports. They were then placed in a holding facility with serious criminals, including an alleged murderer who had been locked up for 18 years, and were forced to spend the night in a freezing cold double cell.

The normalization of and the increasing banality of evil.

Where have many current ICE and many US law enforcement officers receive their training? Why in Israel, of course. Nothing new- its been going on for well over a decade. Here's a 9-year-old article that gives good insight into longstanding Zionist policing and intimidation practices that have now made their way into the day-to-day enforcement methods in America:

Defending ICE? Not my schtick.

Anyhow, most of us don't care about Israel or the Palestinians. Certainly not compared to the existential issues confronting our own nation.

But, I should have just ignored it. Those pro-Hamas folks live in their own universe. The more they prattle on and turn every issue to Israel, the more the rest of us see them for the one-trick ponies they are.

Sounds like CBP assumed the girls were here to work as prostitutes and bounced them. This is actually pretty common in Hawaii - happens to Japanese and Filipinas.

Also, if we bounce the White foreign escorts out of the country, how is Trump supposed to meet his next wife?

Not required. Travelers get turned away at airports every day. It is almost a running joke - every traveler that got turned away would have been just fine crossing the Southern border illegally.

"Travelers get turned away at airports every day."

Turned away, what's that got to do with anything? Not relevant to this discussion.

These two teenage girls from Germany were detained, arrested, and deported.

First, link to where they were arrested - they were not, they were detained. But, go away and provide you link to an arrest.

That is typically the process for being rejected at the airport. They are detained (not arrested), interrogated, and then deported. If the next plane out does not leave until the morning, you are spending the night in detention.

An arrest requires probable cause and will result in charging a crime. Detention does not mean a crime was committed. Big difference. Hence, you don't have the same rights. You cannot appeal a denial of entry claim. It has been this was for decades and 1000+ people have this happen every year. You are making a big deal out of this case because Trump is president.

"You are making a big deal out of this case because Trump is president."

This case and so many others are only happening because of Trump's policies of hostility to tourists.

You're on the record supporting the deportation of these tourists at taxpayer expense, and opposed to simply letting these tourists spend their money at American businesses like we've done for centuries, is that correct?

#25 | Posted by snoofy"

We don't need suspected German prostitutes in the country - so yes, deport them. This story obviously leaves out a ton of details. If you can prove you have the financial means to pay for a hotel - either through cash on hand or proven deposits, they would not have had a problem. If they travelled here for 5 weeks and had no cash or means to pay for a hotel - they are going to be suspected of being prostitutes and rejected. They do the same to Japanese, Koreans, and Filipinas so I am happy to see the policy enforced in a color blind manner. Trump continues to prove he is not a racist.

There is no accusation, you're a guest. Prove you have the means to arrive at your destination and a place to stay for a couple of weeks.

Oh yeah, and please leave your passport at the lobby of the hotel, or at least your passport number.

Its like this EVERYWHERE I have ever travelled, even during my road trip last summer. Though getting a VISA to visit the US is pretty difficult.

#32 | Posted by oneironaut at 2025-04-21 08:53 PM | Reply

You think tourists on a five week visit should be required to carry sufficient cash to pay for five weeks in a hotel, or be denied entry?

No, you're lying.

That amount of cash you'd have to declare at Customs. At which point it would be seized as probable drug money, which you would support.

"You think tourists on a five week visit should be required to carry sufficient cash to pay for five weeks in a hotel, or be denied entry?"

That is why they expect you to pre-book. An 18 and 19 year old girl traveling by themselves without cash or proven sufficient cash in bank accounts instantly makes CBP assume they are here to work illegally - likely as prostitutes. They think that because it is logical to think that - if you don't have cash or deposits, how are you going to pay for your expenses? For people that apply for a VISA to the US, they are required to prove this in advance of getting the VISA.

"That amount of cash you'd have to declare at Customs.
#33 | Posted by snoofy"

Which is why you pre-book with a credit card or prove you have bank deposits.

Your credit score is so bad that you never had a credit card, isn't it? Credit cards work like this - the hotel will swipe your card and the room is paid for. A month later, the credit card company will ask you to pay interest and/or the outstanding balance. So, whether you can pay the credit card bill is irrelevant to whether the hotel can accept payment and allow you to stay there.

If you have no cash, bank deposits, or credit cards (which aren't really used in Germany), you are likely intending to work illegally to pay for your stay - probably as a prostitute - and they are tossed out of the country.

And before you say it - YES - I know you don't have any money and YES I do endorse you getting deported to El Salvador despite being a US citizen.

From the US perspective, if your hotel is paid and the living expenses are paid while here - I don't give 2 shits if you can't pay your credit card in Germany. That is between you and your credit card company.

"Regardless, that doesn't prove you're not a prostitute, does it? Of course not!

How are an 18 and 19 year old girl without money and no pre-arranged hotels going to pay for their multiple week stay in the US without working illegally? Same standard they apply to travelers from Asia. The girls were rightfully denied entry and booted from the country.

Why would they choose to come to Hawaii to be illegal prostitutes, when prostitution is legal in Germany?

#49 | Posted by snoofy"

That will be the first line of screening to determine if there is an intent to work illegally. It seems the girls admitted to intending to work illegally which is why they are saying CBP 'twisted their words'. The fact they didn't have hotels booked was just the reason for the 2nd round of questioning.

"Why would they choose to come to Hawaii to be illegal prostitutes, when prostitution is legal in Germany?
#50 | Posted by snoofy"

Why do they go to Dubai? Probably because they can make more money in better conditions. I assume the rates in Germany are plummeting with the surge in Ukrainian prostitutes.
