Of course it will cut medicare. Rich people don't need it and they are the only ones who count.
"We now live in the Trump era, where the president's terrible ideas are made real by a team of enablers and toadies. Democracy may die in darkness, but under Trump, it's just as liable to die in dumbness."

Oligarchs needs them some tax cuts! I mean, the Top 10 US billionaires only increased their wealth by 1 billion DOLLARS A DAY each day in the last year.
They might starve if we don't cut Medicare!

Alexandrite: Wrongo Boingo. Expect RIGHT WINGERS to show up after they get their talking points. Expect their comments to all be lies, rationalizations, strawmen, and finger-pointing at Biden. I would guess SCOTTS to be the first one up.
The truth is, the GOP has been lying to us all along about not cutting Medicare. And boy oh boy, most Americans are going to be really, really pissed.

Well, they are going to suspend habeas corpus. They can get as pissed as they want, and it will be off to the Salvadoran terrorist prison for them. Womp womp.

Rural hospitals are already closing by the score, and any further cuts will only hasten their demise. Not to mention the impact it will have on our seniors.
Everything Trump does seems designed intentionally to weaken America - our health, our environment, our economy, our status as the leader in research, our protection from disasters, our relationships with our allies, our global standing, and pretty much every other measure of a country's quality of life.
Look folks, none of us gets out of here alive. While we're on this earth, we have an obligation to not be heartless dicks to one another.

Could someone articulate exactly what cuts to medicare are in the bill? I can't find anything specific. All I see are references to the pay-as-you-go act being 'triggered', which adds only another layer of vagueness, since that act has been law for 15 years.
The Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act of 2010, Title I of H.J.Res. 45, is a public law passed by the 111th United States Congress and signed by US President Barack Obama on February 12, 2010.

The commitment to slash SO MUCH SPENDING it's impossible mathematically to do it without slashing Medicare and Medicaid.
But you voted for this, right? That's what the President is telling you.

It seems that PAYGO would be satisfied by cutting extraneous spending in other programs, why would it entail cutting specifically medicare? Even if medicare were cut by 5%, that would affect providers more than recipients. For instance, 'laura''s nursing home would only get 4750.00 per month instead of 5000.00. Aside from that, we could also cut spending on foreign woke boondoggles which benefit only very small demographics of people that are not even Americans in the first place. We could save a lot by not giving away bombs to foreign nations. We could apply deficit limits to overseas spending first, before we have to consider cuts to domestic spending. Hell if we stop paying zelensky so much then medicare would not be affected at all...

...slashing Medicare and Medicaid. #13 | Posted by Danforth
Medicaid, I understand, is not actually '"slashed", but made contingent upon a work requirement for able-bodied adults. I think you are putting apples and oranges together.

p.s. you didn't articulate exactly what cuts to medicare are in the bill. Anyone?

So I'm thinking there really is not anything in the bill about medicare per se. Which makes OPs headline a lie, and indicates the flow of democrat angst is actually an act, in support of another irrational propaganda operation. If any medicare spending is modulated it would be because of obama's PAYGO act, not trump's big shiny bill.

The cuts amount to about $500 billion, automatically triggered by the statutory pay-as-you-go ... since none of you Trumper fascists are honest, you can check out the CBO. You can channel your inner Charlie Kirk or Ben Shapiro all you want, but nobody is going to do the work for you. How about you explain to us how Medicare is untouched by this budget bill instead?
You voted for this, hope you're happy.

What percentage of recipients are children unable to work? It's near 50%, btw.
This will definitively cut Medicare for millions of children, at minimum.

Of course the new Republican tax bill cuts Medicare. You'd have to be stupid to think Republicans wouldn't cut Medicare.

Since Medicare is mostly administered by private insurance, the only thing most people will likely notice is more denials of things the program will claim as 'nonessential', much like how private insurance is already denying claims.
I do have to laugh at the Republicans who were sooo afraid of death panels. Guess what morons... The insurance companies ARE the death panels.
We could have had a universal healthcare system decades ago. But the private sector hates to lose its profits. Just to be clear, a for-profit healthcare system does not benefit the sick. It benefits the shareholders. This should be abundantly clear, as the Big Bullshit Bill did NOT go after the waste in Medicare Advantage.

COBRA is just pure venom, so aptly named.
So glad big medicine reaches only the exploitable.

You are so wrong about so many things at once here I don't really want to bother, but: 1- I'm not a "Trumper" or a "fascist" 2- I'm honest enough, please call me on a lie if you can, or dispense with your bad opinion 3- I'm not "channeling" anyone, and for that matter have never seen a single 'podcast' to refer to 4- Medicare is per se not impacted by the bill, as you noted any cuts would be due to Biden's PAYGO law 5- None of my snips are from any "russian propaganda" sites. Hint, you can google any of my snips to discover their source, since I pick them up directly instead of rephrasing them per agenda like your OPies here. 6- You have no idea how I voted, presuming says more about you than about me.

Citation needed. You may be confusing medicare vs medicaid.
As of October 2024, 37 million children in the U.S. were enrolled in Medicaid or CHIP. This includes children with disabilities or chronic health conditions and those living in working families with low incomes. The programs help children get the care they need to stay healthy in school and activities
If you have a child under the age of 20, they can only qualify for Medicare if they have End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Additionally, to qualify for Medicare coverage, the child must: Need dialysis on a regular basis or require a kidney transplant.

repeating for emphasis,
Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people age 65 or older. People younger than age 65 with certain disabilities, permanent kidney failure, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease), may also be eligible for Medicare. You are so wrong about so many things at once here I don't really want to bother, but: 1- I'm not a "Trumper" or a "fascist" - Sure, Jan. 2- I'm honest enough, please call me on a lie if you can, or dispense with your bad opinion - Intellectual dishonesty is a common trait of the don't-label-me/"Just asking qwestiuns" crowd. 3- I'm not "channeling" anyone, and for that matter have never seen a single 'podcast' to refer to - If you have never seen a single podcast', then how do you know you're not channeling them? You sound exactly like those guys. 4- Medicare is per se not impacted by the bill, as you noted any cuts would be due to Biden's PAYGO law - Obama was president when Congress implemented PAYGO in 2010. Deficits only matter when a Democrat is in the White House ... increasing the deficit isn't in the bill, per se ... it's just what happens when you stop collecting tax revenues and then spend like drunken sailors. Repubicans are bad for the economy. 5- None of my snips are from any "russian propaganda" sites. Hint, you can google any of my snips to discover their source, since I pick them up directly instead of rephrasing them per agenda like your OPies here. - Since your alias is only 3 months old, we don't have a lot of history. I'm sure your perspective is completely independent and the lockstep alignment with right wing media is purely coincidental. 6- You have no idea how I voted, presuming says more about you than about me. - You're right, I don't even know if you even vote. Looking at your comment history, however, I'm comfortable with my presumption.
