While the Trump administration's cuts to USAID this year have been felt deeply across the world, their impact in Sudan was especially deadly, according to more than two dozen Washington Post interviews with civilians, clinicians and aid officials in the capital, Khartoum, and surrounding villages.

I feel bad after seeing those sad pictures. I didn't even know there was a war raging in Sudan! Whose side are we on? How is it my responsibility?
I hope we're arming somebody there to help end the suffering.

And there's "hard power."

Hard power is sending our great service people to Iran to drop bombs.

Soft power is trying to prevent the need for that approach.
