The number of military stationed in Washington, DC is a not a large number compared to the number of law enforcement people usually there.
It looks like the purpose of the deployment is more for optics than anything else. But why?
Yet another Epstein distraction attempt?

A pedantic, academic question at best.
Nationally, crime is way down from historical levels and is dropping after a pandemic spike. The picture Trump paints is the same as he painted the first time when it also wasn't true.
His claims are but a pretext to his authoritarian power grab. Thats it.
