Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The United States is less democratic, less self-governing, more dysfunctional, and more corrupt than it was 20 years ago, thanks in large part to the Supreme Court's rulings.

The is no "democracy" at the federal level. There is only the Constitutional Republic.

The Supreme Court is doing exactly what it's supposed to do. Keep all power OUT of the hands of a central government. The power needs to stay with the states and rightly so. That's the only place the people actually have power. At the local level. This ensures California has no power over Georgia. It ensures the mob in NY has no power over North Dakota.

---- mob democracy. Our founders knew it. They saw progressives coming from a mile away.

And thank God for them.

"The is no "democracy" at the federal level."

WTF is wrong with you?

How are federal representatives and senators getting elected if there is no democracy at the federal level?

Since I don't expect you to actually know and understand the answer I will provide AI's answer so there is no further confusion on your part.

AI Overview

+13
At the federal level, the United States practices a representative democracy, a system where citizens elect officials to represent their interests. A key feature of this structure is the separation of powers, which divides governing responsibilities among three distinct branches.
Legislative branch: U.S. Congress
The U.S. Congress, a bicameral legislature, is one of the clearest examples of representative democracy in action. Citizens vote for representatives who then create and vote on laws on their behalf.

Shut up Donner..

Take the "L"..

While often categorized as a democracy, the United States is more accurately defined as a constitutional federal republic. What does this mean? "Constitutional" refers to the fact that government in the United States is based on a Constitution which is the supreme law of the United States. The Constitution not only provides the framework for how the federal and state governments are structured, but also places significant limits on their powers. "Federal" means that there is both a national government and governments of the 50 states. A "republic" is a form of government in which the people hold power, but elect representatives to exercise that power.

Probably zero, s*&^bag. We have no idea because zero evidence is being offered to support their claims.

You realize that trump is murdering people now, right?

There is literally ZERO legal justification for murdering those Venezuelans

From Hegseth on down to the guy pulling the trigger, they are ALL subject to the law.

If I were them, I would be, at least, somewhat concerned that I will be held accountable in the future. Murder does not have a statute of limitations.

This administration acts like they will be in power forever.

Murder is murder.

I suspect some magat scum don't have the integrity to understand this argument.

Nope.

I don't have a dog in that fight. I wasn't alive then and those circumstances don't affect me today. They are the past.

What does affect me is the liberal/progressive mindset of those northern states, which everyone is trying to leave and come to the southern states for a quieter pace of life. Problem is, they bring their way of thinking, which isn't compatible with the southern lifestyle.

Depending on how old you are, either you or your parents weren't allowed to drink from white drinking fountains not too long ago. Is that a fact that makes you PROUD?

People don't move to the south because they want a quieter pace, they do it because their old bones can't take the northern winters, or they're out of money and have to move where it's cheap because it sucks there.

The southern lifestyle was separate schools, bathrooms, and water fountains for people like you, hanging you from trees for flirting with a white woman, flags that remind everyone that you fought for slavery, and statues glorifying traitors who fought to keep you in slavery, to remind little black kids who is in charge.

Are they taxed? If so, then "bringing their way of thinking" is how America works. Otherwise, you're advocating "taxation without representation".

Does that ring a bell?

Exactly

So why are courts constantly preventing the law from being enforced and trying to rule that the power of certain positions is limited even though it expressly is not in the case brought to them?
