... "My only goal and desire has ever been to hold the Republican Party accountable for the promises it makes to the American people and put America First," Greene said in her statement. "With that has brought years of nonstop, never-ending personal attacks, death threats, lawfare, ridiculous slander and lies about me, that most people could never withstand even for a day." ...
imo, she has her sights upon a higher office.

She's going to by running against Ted Cruz and Shady JD for President in 2028... if there's even an Election.

This is the "I need more time with the family" excuse.
Is this a canary in the coal mine?
Did MTG see some polling in her own district that spooked her?
You run for higher office from a position of power: Congressional seat, governor's mansion, Senate seat.
Not from a position from which you stepped down.
The canary in the coal mine.

@#5 ... Did MTG see some polling in her own district ...
Found this ...
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene voters say they're sticking with her, despite the Trump feud www.nbcnews.com
... What hasn't happened may be the most noteworthy part of the drama: Greene's voters don't appear to have repudiated her even though she's now a target of Trump's ire. ...

@#6
I still hold my opinion, that she may be looking for a higher office than Representative. At first I had thought maybe a Senator of Georgia or the Governor of Georgia.
But, I cannot shake the feeling that she is looking nationally ...

#7 My nephew was interested in pursuing a career in sports broadcasting, preferably in front of a camera.
When he found out that, across this great land, there are just a small number of on-air sports broadcasters in the smaller markets, and an even smaller number in the mid- to large-sized television markets, he changed majors.
He ended up pursuing a career behind the camera, instead.
MTG may have national political aspirations, but the field is narrow, very, very narrow.
And, national political aspirations allow for the most minimum of mistakes along the way to be successful.
Which is why, nationally, the number of positions to which someone may aspire is small, and the number of successful candidates along the way even smaller.
Very small.

@#9 .. MTG may have national political aspirations, but the field is narrow, very, very narrow. ..
A good analogy regarding your nephew. I wish him the best in his career behind the camera.
But yeah, national political aspirations are always fraught with a rapidly diminishing field of candidates.
At this point, I am more of the "time will tell" opinion.
... and I'm stocking up on popcorn ...
YMMV.

Wow, that was pretty extreme, even for the late 1960's. But the Country survived n spite of that British tune.

@#18 ... the MAGA't civil war ...
I disagree.
imo, it is not a civil war at this point.
It is a political war.
And how might that political war wind up?
Too soon to tell, imo.
The voters seem to be having regrets about the votes they have cast in 2024 (that could be an understatement). The 2025 election results seems to show that, in spades.
Will that regret carry on to November 2026?
imo, too soon to tell.
But stay tuned ...

Was she credibly threatened with Violence or Death?
Trump supporters ARE Violent.
She was starting to grow as a person. She renounced the lockstep "Support" for Israel. Made Enemies in high places by doing so.
She was in favor of Universal Health care.
I never liked her but this is a strange development.
She's actually not just a Toad.
MAGA is Imploding.
Trumps Death would be a Blessing for humanity and the world.

She was reviled by the left for years and felt perfectly safe.
Then she was hated by the right for a few days and she had to hire extra security because of all the threats and then quit congress.

How long until Trump starts locking up former Allies?
The Counter Revolution is just getting started.
Trump's power base is Narrow. Mostly fellow travelers.
If they stop seeing him as the big JuJu?
He will become the lamest of lame ducks.
A Dead Duck.
And most Americans won't Care.
May even be Relieved.

I think it's possible that MTG got a threat from the top after she threatened to spill all the names on the House floor. She should probably stay away from upper floor windows and stairwells for awhile.

I'll admit her resigning wasn't on my Bingo card. My $$ is she's thinking a couple moves ahead on the Who Wears The Crown When Epstein Eats The King? MAGA lottery, and covers her tracks playing the Canary in the Coal Mine to "normalize" her 4/8chan worldview.

Death threats aren't part of the job description.
Especially after she was a faithful supporter for years and her votes showed it.
MAGA is eating its own.
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE.
Trump accepts NO criticism or independence of thought.
It will be his Undoing.
When MAGA turns on him he will be Cescescued.
A Prediction.
Trump has Unleashed forces he can't control.
He's not the first.
