Thursday, December 11, 2025

"I'm afraid that Secretary [Pete] Hegseth and President Trump are sleepwalking us into a war with Venezuela, and that regime change and access to the critical mineral resources and oil and gas of Venezuela is the real purpose and real goal here," [Sen. Chris] Coons told MS NOW's Nicolle Wallace on "Deadline: White House," in comments highlighted by Mediaite.

"Trump, in an interview released Tuesday, did not dismiss the possibility of sending American troops to Venezuela.

"I don't comment on that. I wouldn't say that one way or the other," the president told Politico's Dasha Burns when questioned if U.S. troops could end up on the ground in Venezuela in the future.

"Colombian President Gustavo Petro said in an interview published late last month that oil was central to the Trump administration's pressure campaign in Venezuela instead of a battle against drugs.

"[Oil] is at the heart of the matter," Petro said in the interview with CNN."

US forces seize oil tanker off Venezuela coast
www.theguardian.com

... Move is major escalation of US pressure campaign against South American country's dictator, Nicols Maduro.

US forces have seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, in a major escalation of Donald Trump's four-month pressure campaign against the South American country's dictator, Nicols Maduro.

The US president confirmed the operation on Wednesday, telling reporters: "We've just seized a tanker on the coast of Venezuela - a large tanker, very large, the largest one ever seized actually. And other things are happening so you will be seeing that later and you will be talking about that later with other people."

Two US officials told Reuters the operation was led by the US Coast Guard, but did not name the tanker or say specifically where the interception happened. A senior Trump administration official told Bloomberg that the US had conducted a "judicial enforcement action on a stateless vessel" that was last docked in Venezuela. ...

In defiant flyover, US F-18 fighter jets enter Venezuelan airspace for 40 minutes
www.stripes.com

... Two U.S. F-18 fighter jets flying in tandem entered Venezuelan airspace around noon Tuesday, circling over the Gulf of Venezuela in the latest show of force against the regime of Nicols Maduro.

The flyover -- carried out despite the Venezuelan regime's possession of a number of Russian-made anti-aircraft batteries -- took place less than 100 miles northeast of Maracaibo, Venezuela's second-largest city. Thousands of Venezuelans tracked the aircraft online through specialized tracking websites, watching as the jets traced a bow-tie-shaped pattern over the gulf.

The fighters remained inside Venezuelan airspace for at least 40 minutes at an altitude of roughly 25,000 feet before heading north and leaving the area.

The U.S. fighter jets flew between two key regions for Venezuela's energy sector, Zulia and Falcon states. Lake Maracaibo, whose 5,000 square miles make it of the largest fresh bodies of water on the continent, is the cradle of reserves of some 150 billion barrels of crude oil. ...

When Dummkopf Trumpf illegally bombed Iran in June this year, House Democrat Al Green (D-TX) introduced a bill to impeach the Republican warmonger.

"The House overwhelmingly torpedoed an effort by Rep. Al Green (D-TX) to impeach President Dummkopf Trumpf over the US strikes on Iran, underscoring how little appetite Democrats have to try and oust the president despite their frustration with the weekend attack.

The chamber voted 344-79 to table Green's resolution, which charges Trumpf with abuse of power. One hundred-twenty eight Democrats, including the caucus's top three leaders, voted with Republicans to table the measure, while 79 Democrats voted against the effort, pushing for the chamber to hold a vote on the resolution."

Gut arbet, Congressional Democrats!

Why did these 128 Democrats think it was OK for the US to attack Iranian targets in June 2025 but it is not OK for the US to attack Venezuelan targets beginning in September?

Good question.

Perhaps that is why Congressional Democrats have a lower approval rating among Democrat voters than Congressional Republicans have among Republican voters?

Just like in the US cities where Trump is pushing and pushing to get some violence to declare Martial Law he is hoping Venezuela strikes back and then he is able to use that as an excuse for actual war.

No he didn't....
Under the "law of the sea" " UNCLOS " any stateless vessel can be stopped and boarded by any nation. No permission required.
MarineTraffic showed it flying a Guyana flag, but that's just self-reported AIS data.
The actual government registry database, Equasis.org, and you'll see Guyana officially denies registering this ship.

No real flag = stateless vessel.
And stateless vessels have zero legal protections.

Naval War College lays out the full framework here:
digital-commons.usnwc.edu

Why did Bidens oil sanctions not work? Because he never went after stateless tankers, which were violating the sanctions.

This was an escort of Machado's boat as I have stated you morons.

At the time of her crossing, the Navy dispatched two F-18 fighter jets into the Gulf of Venezuela, where they flew circles around her route for about 40 minutes"the closest incursion into Venezuelan airspace the military has made since tensions between the two nations escalated in September.

This thread really brings the emotional stupidity of the American people.

Everything has a logical, legal reasoning, but you don't take the time to understand or even learn the most basic point, just run around busy as a headless fly, and hands busy feet in a flurry.

Legal basis?

Show your work.

No legal protections isn't the same as legal.

No legal protections just means the Piracy won't be scrutinized by any other government.

What a commie tard you've become.

If you really think Everything or Anything Trumpy or this administration does has a "logical, legal reasoning", then you obviously have no clue what logical and legal means.

But I wouldn't expect a commie spyboy to understand what is logical and legal in America.

Blah blah blah. Apples and oranges. That was an unintentional attack. These things happen in wars. Which is why we don't like wars you big dummy.

They should not have fired their weapons into the sky while US military craft were flying over them.

BTW- Obama used the 2001 AUMF that Congress passed. The AUMF authorized the President to use "all necessary and appropriate force" against those responsible for the attacks and those who harbored them.

We are not at war. No one fired upon those Navy vessels. These are intentional attacks on civilians with orders to kill them all so that there are no witnesses. (But like a dumb and dumber criminal they filmed themselves committing a crime on the high seas).

Who has attacked us? Where is the evidence? What congressional authority is Trumpy using to kill Venezuelan civilians?

I don't think that Trump is sleepwalking at all.

It was predicted that he'd get us into a war from the start of this term.

He is going to leverage war powers into domestic powers.

Because he wants to be dictator, and he really thinks (like Hyman Roth) that he will live forever.

Lemme see... Saudi Arabia (OPEC) owns our largest oil refinery... Trumpanzee was entertaining Prince Mohammed bin Salman a couple weeks ago... I mean, Venezuela has the largest reserves and is a founding member of OPEC.

Trumpanzee telling Canada and Mexico to fek off... when NAFTA is what helped us extract ourselves from OPEC the last time. The clowns... from Prescott Bushturd back in WW2 forward... the billionaires want us there... It's what inspired Kuwait and Iraq 1. The bin Ladens and Iraq 2...

Fascinating who the cl0wn brigades want to butt buddy with.

They are using capitalism against our nation... weaponizing greed.
