What's changed is the fact that there were once multiple threads (on the front and back pages) with 100s of retorts, with some even breaking 1,000 comments.

While a person was composing a retort to a comment, by the time they hit the "Publish Comment" button, there might be several (or more) comments already there.

What people are missing is not the dearth of right or left posters here.

What's missing in the Retort today is a dearth of posters, of any stripe.

Right now, on the Front page and the Back page:

There are 26 threads on the Front page, there are 32 threads on the Back page.

Between both pages there are approximately 1,200 comments/retorts, or an average of 20 comments/reports per thread.

I haven't looked at the number of repeat posters (same poster posting on multiple threads), but I suspect that number is small, too.

There were times when a single thread would have 1,200+ comments/retorts.

Today, 20 comments/retorts is the average (which is somewhat skewed by the presence of just 2 Front page threads exceeding 100 comments/retorts each).

And do tell us, bell boi, exactly which "sites are banned as thread material" here on the Retort.

I know, for example, that the Space Nazi will not properly resolve articles posted there from Substack. But at least you can still post such things.

Which sites has our host banned here?

Or is this part of you people's continued persecution complex based on nothing?

#77 & #80 As I understand it, Eb lives in a closed-primary state, where if his vote is to have any effect, it has to be in the primaries. If one does not register with a political party, then one cannot vote in the primaries for Republican or Democrat (except for nominally non-partisan elections and votes on issues).

At least that's my understanding.
