More from the article ...

... Marine Expeditionary Units are trained and equipped to conduct amphibious landings, but they also specialize in bolstering security at embassies, evacuating civilians and disaster relief. While the deployment is a major increase of troops in the region, it does not necessarily indicate that a ground operation is imminent or will take place at all.

The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, as well the Tripoli and other amphibious assault ships carrying the Marines, are based in Japan and have been at sea in the Pacific Ocean for several days, according to images released by the military. Their location puts them more than a week away from the waters off Iran. ...

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the USS Tripoli amphibious assault ship, its attached Marine expeditionary force and their loaded vehicles and gear, and associated escort and support ships have left Japan for the Middle East at the request of US Central Command in the region.

Sent to land on the Iranian coast in an attempt to open the strait?

It's a long voyage from Japan (where it's reported the expeditionary force is now) to the Persian Gulf, so we won't know for weeks.

"The University of Florida confirms that its College Republicans chapter has been disbanded by the Florida Federation of College Republicans amid controversy over "a recent antisemitic gesture."

The gesture appears to have been from a member on a recent streaming platform making an Adolf Hitler style salute. UF's statement does not specify though."

FYI:

Astoundingly, Germany's Foreign Minister made a surprise visit to Israel in the middle of their vicious and illegal offensive against the people of Iran. Somehow FM Johann Wadephul forgot the Third Reich also conducted a surprise, vicious, and illegal attack against the people of the USSR on 22 June 1941 (Operation Barbarossa).

In 2025, Germany at one point limited-- not fully stopped-- sending lethal military aid to Israel because of the horrific casualties the IDF was causing in Gaza. That hiatus was temporary and funding and weapons transfers continued because Germany needs something from Israel: specific weaponry.

Berlin bought an AI maritime drone (the Blue Whale) from Israel, but more importantly, Germany needs Arrow-3 interceptors from Tel Aviv to deal with their potential conflict with Russia.

Now we read that Israel is critically low on interceptors.

A win would be if people like you simply went away and peddled your homophobia and racism to people who share your beliefs.

Boaz leaving is a huge win. For us, and for Boaz.

Sully leaving is a loss for us, but a win for Sully.

Not a war. An Authorization For Use Of Military Force.

But yeah, that's the one.

What's your point, I wonder. Are you suggesting the Democrats erred in supporting President Bush's agenda?

Because you're certainly not honest enough to say President Bush's agenda was a failure.

So you blame the Democrats, like blaming the bartender who served a beer, instead of blaming that actual perpetrator, the drunk for driving home.

I vote for Democrats because I believe in personal liberty that extends to a woman's right to choose and any person's freedom of self determination when it comes to their own gender.

Iraq War, as you pointed out, isn't a thing we got to vote on.

"I never supported Bush or his failed wars in the Middle East, so I'm not sure why you think I wouldn't call it a failure."

You'll never say anything you support.
You know it will open you up to criticism.
You're too weak and insecure to handle criticism

It's another reason you constantly turn to gay-bashing comments.

You know it's a way to shut down the conversation before you have to name anything you actually support.

You probably don't even realize that's why you're doing it.

The best help for someone like you is therapy and psychedelic drugs that will break down the layered defenses you've chosen to hide behind since you were raped as a little boy

But you're not strong enough to be that man. That man is forced to expose himself to risk. You won't ever make that mistake again.

They broke you.
You know it.
It's why your mad.
And it's why you choose to be mad at the wrong people -- the ones who would try to help you if you had the courage to let them.
