I used to deer hunt a lot and mainly used a 30-06. My choice of shot was in the heart when the side profile was visible but have taken a couple of neck shots and one was with the deer facing me. I know what that looks like, and it didn't look anything like the Kirk assassination. So I completely understand the projectile not matching what is being sold as the murder weapon.

Something is very wrong with the whole scenario. The fact that the crew sanitized the crime scene in front of everyone, and paved over it days later is also unsettling.

Many have pointed out that his widow's behavior has been bizarre, but it could be linked to the trauma she endured. So I will refrain from raw-dogging on her.

It was a head shot that dropped more than expected because the rifle was pointed slightly down; not level with the ground.

That's a stretch. If the rifle was as you say "pointed down slightly" the shooter would have recognized that in the optics and corrected.

How much experience do you think the shooter had engaging targets at a lower elevation?

Did you shoot deer in the neck from above?

I don't know about his experiences or the lack of them. I do know that at that distance, if your scope is sighted in, that bullet is going where ever that cross in the scope is pointed. I've shot deer from box stands, tree stands and standing on the ground. If you can see your target you should be able to hit it.

A projectile traveling somewhere around 3000 feet per second in a 140 yard shot isn't going drop that much due to gravity.

And I'm still not sold on the story that it was a bullet from a 30-06 that ultimately killed Kirk. I don't have all the answers, but I do question what I'm being told - considering my real experiences.

I met this guy once at a friend's house back when I was in my 20's who had been shot with a 30-06 (hunting accident) in the backside of his elbow. the bullet exited through the tip of one of his fingers. He was fully healed but had to keep the arm in a sling because it was basically a bunch of hamburger meat wrapped in skin graphs. It was useless - probably should have been removed. Judging by the wounds that rifle inflicted on the deer I shot, I cant imagine how that was the bullet that supposedly killed Kirk.

I have no idea what happened. I'd love to know though.
