We'll know a lot more pretty soon. In the story, this same geopolitical conflict involving these same ME peoples (some countries have changed names and sizes and numbers, but same peoples AND the predicted 4th Reich in the US) will expand Trump's Abraham Accords to include most of the current suspects in a major Peace Agreement.
The US and the world will prosper for 3.5 years, then the US will attack... Israel. Which I can almost see that happening if it's Israel who is breaking the Treaty.
The AC, currently a GOD in Israeli public opinion, then steps into the newly built 3rd Temple and... posts another meme of him as God... who is NOT amused at all at this point.
But it's just a story. Couldn't possibly happen.

There should NEVER have been a government contract with a religious 'charity' in the first place.
Tax money should NEVER go to religion.

What if the president started weighing in on Catholic doctrine?
Suppose Trump publicly questioned the Church's stance on birth control, calling it outdated and irresponsible. It places a real burden on young couples trying to make ends meet.
I suspect Pope Leo XIV wouldn't appreciate that. He'd likely say the president should stay in his lane and not interfere with Catholic teaching.
Ok...fair enough.
But that principle should work both ways.
If political leaders are expected to stay out of religious doctrine, then religious leaders should be cautious about stepping into the political arena, especially in a country like the United States, where decisions are shaped by many factors, not just what may be considered Biblically acceptable.
There's a difference between offering moral guidance and attempting to influence policy. When the Pope speaks in ways that clearly lean on governments to act a certain way, he's no longer just teaching doctrine.
Once you step over that line, you invite scrutiny.

Sy,
I saw that picture. Its all in the eye of the beholder.
Trump had some thing he said about being a teacher or something.
I didnt quite see that but I didn't see Jesus depicted either.
Perhaps showing compassion or bearing a light.
It was pretty strange but I didnt see it as depicting Jesus.
Really, I'm not giving it a second thought.

"Your President is a Pedophile and Rapist"
Paul the Apostle, who wrote much of the New Testament, was once Saul of Tarsus, a man who persecuted Christians and approved of their deaths.
Then he changed and helped guide the early Christian churches.
Christianity doesn't erase what someone was. It recognizes what they become.
That's the whole point of forgiveness.
I don't know what Donald Trump believes or feels. He says he's been spared, that God protected him.
I'll say this. I've seen moments in my own life where I believe the same thing.

Trump fit's every biblical description of the AC, the Man of Sin. Dozens of them.
Whether he is or not, matching those descriptions perfectly make him one evil POS.

And then just one other thing, the vice president of the United States. converted to Catholicism 9 years ago.
For him to tell the vicar of Christ, who's been a priest for 34 years that he needs to be careful about how he talks about theology is one of the most insulting things I, I think I could have possibly ever hear being said to the pontiff, but too, from the vice president of the United States.

Quite the contrary, it is quite serious.
I cannot say whether or not Pres Trump is a cruel person, but how his actions towards those he seems to dislike indicates that he may be a cruel person.
And i am reminded of what I have heard from Trump supporters over and over again. Don't go by what he says, go by what he does (acts).

I've no issue with "playing to win."
My issue is the cruelty that Pres Trump seems to use in order to achieve that winning.
Is winning actually achieved if cruelty is needed to attain it?
Or is the use of cruelty actually an admission of weakness and loss?

In some communist countries it was common practice to take over the majority religion with people that were loyal to the government and able to mouth a few words of "scripture". One would expect the Trump gang to do such a thing if it were possible, for Trump clearly is about being dictator, and there can only be one...Look at what Trump has done to the Republican Party.

"Prima Sedes a nemine iudicatur"
The Pope is judged by no one.
He is only accountable to God, not to any earthly secular authority.
Not so for preachers and evangelicals in America ... if you step over the line into politics in your church then you could invite IRS scrutiny (under a NORMAL administration which actually follows and faithfully enforces the law).
For the Pope there is no line whereby any government can hold him accountable for what he says.
So good luck with all the "scrutiny". The Pope invites more of your "scrutiny".

Even the Pope goes to confession.
"Pope Francis, who is a Jesuit himself, has been reported to have Jesuit priests as confessors.
In the past, Popes have had confessors from the Capuchin order, known for their spiritual guidance roles in the Vatican."

I am not Catholic.
But as I understand it you are not "judged" in confession.
Confession is for mercy and forgiveness rather than passing any judgments. It's for reconciliation with your God and absolution of any perceived sins, not keeping a tally of faults.

I tell my Catholic friends to confess to rabbis instead of priests because the Solomons seem to have a better sense of humor than the Padres.
Once I caught somebody cheating at cards on Saturday right after she told us she was going to attend 5PM Sunday Mass.
"Confess!"

Db,
"Plenty of Catholics are as batshit crazy"
Years ago I was installing PCs in an office at a Catholic church.
I was surprised at the language I heard.
The Baptists I knew were more reserved.
The Catholics in that office talked a lot more about parties and drinking. It felt out of place for a church administrative setting.
I know that was just my own experience but it left me pretty shocked.
