Everyone should keep in mind that Trump, and many of his people, have been having issues with Gabbard ever since both Venezuela and the war with Iran, over her long term opposition to foreign involvement, particularly when it came to forcing regime change.

Is she glad the bloated orange pedo cut funding for cancer research?

And if my spouse was stricken with a life threatening disease, I wouldn't wait over five weeks to quit my job before I could spend full time with them.

No reason to automatically suppose that there is truth in her story.

Other sources state that Trump forced her out.

This is quite the loss----For Russia.

This Islamophobic, homophobic Hare Krishna cultist severely damaged the USIC and our national security.

May she be promptly rewarded for her blasphemies.

Does this mean she has to go back to Oklahoma?

I hope her husband is OK and gets good treatment.

37 is too Young.

Perhaps she needed to Tie Off loose ends before Quitting?

Yeah. She knows exactly how badly we are screwed now.

I would like to have compassion for her life struggles but this sounds like an excuse to get out while she can. She has good healthcare (unlike so many of us) It's not like she can't do her job remotely for a while. WTF was she doing in Georgia?

She was in a position to really know WTF was going on with this corrupt administration and its attempts to undermine our constitution and democracy.

You think she will ever tell the American People WTF is really going on?

Not likely.

One of the problems with being a traitorous treacherous turncoat is that nobody on either side is sad to see you go.

If she moves into her Doomsday Bunker (*they all have access to one) head for the cabin in the hills.

* While government access is highly restricted, elevated tensions in the Middle East have led to reports of several high-ranking administration officials and Cabinet members bypassing official channels by purchasing their own private bomb shelters from companies like Atlas Survival Shelters.

#15 Donnerboy says, If she moves into her Doomsday Bunker..."

I absolutely love that the uber-wealthy are wasting their money on Doomsday Bunkers

Doomsday arrives... Are they already there, or not.

If not, who's gonna fly them there?

And, what happens to the pilot and others that got them there?

Left out in the wild?

Nope.

Meanwhile, in the Doomsday Bunker, who is going to maintain the systems that keep the uber-wealthy alive?

Or that keeps the uber-wealthy fed?

Servants...?

That are paid for with just exactly what?

And what about those servants' families?

Left out above to die?

How's that gonna work out for the uber-wealthy?

Then there's that whole medical thingy.

Who's gonna take care of the uber-wealthy (and their family) when it comes to health care?

Will the well-compensated "doctor," pre-Doomsday, care about the uber-wealthy after the --- has hit the fan?

And the well-compensated "doctor," his/her family... where will they be?

And then there's the sticky issue of the "security" for the uber-wealthy in their Doomsday bunker.

What's to have then turn their guns in a more intimate setting.

Fun, fun, fun.

The "Billionaire Bunker" Paradox

The ultra-wealthy are investing hundreds of millions into fortified compounds, yet these projects often face logical dead ends:

Worthless Wealth: A major concern for elites is maintaining control over security forces once currency loses its value. Without a functioning economy, there is little incentive for guards to remain loyal rather than simply taking over the resources themselves.

Extreme Features: Some luxury shelters include bizarre defensive measures like flammable moats that turn into rings of fire or water cannons designed to take down helicopters.

High-End Isolation: Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly building a $270 million compound in Hawaii featuring a 5,000-square-foot underground shelter with its own food and energy supplies.

Psychological Strain: To prevent insanity, luxury bunkers use tricks like night-scene paintings visible under black lights to simulate the outside world and windows that aren't actually windows.

Common Design and Social Flaws

Beyond the luxury tier, doomsday prepping often overlooks practical and ethical realities:

Basic Survival Gaps: Many amateur designs fail due to inadequate air filtration, insufficient waste management, or lack of secondary exits.

Social Isolation: Critics argue that focusing on individual survival via bunkers ignores the fact that human survival historically depends on peaceful cooperation and stable climates rather than isolated concrete boxes.

Market Growth: Despite the absurdity, the "panic industry" is booming, with the fallout shelter market expected to exceed $175 million by 2030.

I did not have Tulsi on my next to be fired list.

I was sure it would be Kashyap.

Maybe hoping it would be ...

You are right. If/when it were to happen you will be where to are. "Leave the World Behind" (produced by Obama) did an excellent job of portraying that scenario.

But I assume someone like Tulsi has access enough info to know how close we really would be.

How do you think they are making millions on stock trades?

Insider information.

You are thinking like the hoi polloi.

You think "Worthless Wealth" means anything to a billionaire.

They could burn all the money I've ever and not even flinch.

#3 Sounds like the five weeks is till the effective date of her resignation. Th five weeks may be "terminal leave, when you resign, but stay on the payroll until your accumulated leave runs out.

"Gabbard is the latest woman to resign from Trump's cabinet. Kristi Noem, the homeland security secretary, was moved by Trump to the non-cabinet role of special envoy to the Shield of the Americas in March; Pam Bondi was fired as attorney-general in April; and Lori Chavez-DeRemer was removed as labour secretary later that month."
