"This fall, 2,000 NYC families will have access to free 2-K seats, and next year that number will grow to 12,000 families in every borough. A majority of these seats would be offered as full-day programs operating from 0800 to 1800 Hrs, 260 days per year, helping meet the needs of working New Yorkers."

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) with NYC Comptroller Brad Lander (D), a genuine mensch and the Big Apple's next US Congressman come Tuesday 3 Nov 2026

"Mayor Mamdani and Governor Hochul announced the historic launch of 2-K just eight days after the Mayor took office, along with a $1.2 billion investment by the state for child care in New York City"

So, the taxpayers in the state of New York are ponying up $1.2 billion dollars to fund free childcare in New York city. And they're just getting started.

"No parent should have to choose between a job they love and a child they can't afford to care for"
-Governor Hochul

Seems a good solution would be not having a child you can't afford, but NYC will see to it that bad decisions keep being made.

The taxes of New Yorkers are going back into helping New Yorkers raise their children.

It's almost like that's the point of a civilization.

It takes a village to raise a child.

The "I got mine, ---- you!" mentality is what's wrong with America.

But it's one deplorable people consider a virtue.

You're pro abortion?

Do you hide this opinion from your fellow MAGAts?

FTA:

"a $1.2 billion investment"

It would seem that New York considers its children to be a worthy, if not essential, investment.

#1 Anyone in New York can get an abortion on demand.

#2 No one HAS to get pregnant. There are plenty of workarounds for this issue.

#6 Left Hind Turds states the obvious: "There are plenty of workarounds for this issue."

100% correct, Left Hind Turds.

There are plenty of workarounds...

...all of which are none of your business ...

ABSOLUTE 100% TRUE FACTS ABOUT ABORTION

In the entirety of modern human history, no woman has willingly sought an abortion for a wanted child. Not at 9 hours. Not at 9 days. Not at 9 weeks. Not at 9 months. Not ever. WITH ONE VERY IMPORTANT EXCEPTION

But, in the entirety of modern human history, and for many individual reasons, women have sought to terminate the pregnancy of an unwanted child.

Each reason is as individual as the woman seeking to terminate the unwanted child. Sometimes the pregnancy is a result of rape or ------. But whatever the reason, no law or religious dogma has ever stopped women from seeking an abortion for an unwanted child. Nor will it. Not now, not ever.

ONE VERY IMPORTANT EXCEPTION: The most tragic abortions are for women carrying a wanted child but find out that their personal health is at risk. Or that it is an ectopic pregnancy. Or their chance for a future child is jeopardized. Or, the wanted child has no chance to live outside of the womb.

The last scenario is especially hideous: The prognosis for Potter's syndrome is very poor. Most babies with this condition do not survive beyond birth due to respiratory failure. IOW, the mother holds her newborn child while the child SUFFOCATES TO DEATH IN HER ARMS... AND THERE'S NOTHING SHE CAN DO ABOUT IT BUT WATCH HER BABY DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH. This can go on for up to 45 minutes, sometimes even longer.

These are tragic circumstances that, yes, sometimes only become apparent at close to 9 months. This is a fact, a very tragic fact, but a fact, nonetheless. It is also a fact that an abortion is sometimes the only option available for the woman and her family.

Nothing " NOTHING " you or anyone can say will alter these...

Middleclass Americans are taxed to hell and back. They're tired of paying for one entitlement after another. The upper middle class had better have tax shelters or they're royally fkked once those children leave home. There's a handful of people like you describe above, but for the most part people are exhausted with this shtt. And it's not just entitlement programs for lower income people. It also encompasses business owners, corporations, foreigners and their grants etc...

For example, when the Vietnamese were brought here as refugees, they were given grants and low- to- no interest loans to get fishing businesses started. This put the existing American fishermen on the endangered species list because they couldn't sell their catches at the prices the foreigners could without going broke. Those are the kinds of Boomers who voted Trump 3 times.

#8 Left Hind Turds makes the "trickle-down" ------------ 'experts' "argument": "Middleclass Americans are taxed to hell and back."

No, they're not, Left Hind Turds.

The uber-wealthy have been getting away with not paying their fair share since Reagan.

I say ...

How about we start taxing the uber-wealthy who have, for the past 40 years, been able to dodge their financial responsibilities that provide them with a country that protects them and their money and their property?

Not to mention the fact that this country has given them, the uber-wealthy, a nation of publicly educated wage-earners who can afford to buy their products/services?

How about that?

Afterall, ingratitude is a Cardinal Sin.
