The noxious orange chomo has lost $4 billion worth of aircraft while shutting down the Strait Of Hormuz. What a military genius.

It took two hours to pull them out? Seems they would have known exactly where they were, but the area wasn't secure to mount an immediate rescue? Even then, it was by drone.

#10 | Posted by sitzkrieg

Why would they do that?

Why bother nabbing the pilots?

What in that action is to their benefit?

Isn't Iran sitting pretty right now? No "hot" war and getting revenue from controlling the strait.

Why would Iran put that in jeopardy by capturing a couple of pilots that Piggy would have to retaliate massively?

People fail to understand that Iran has everything they want

This is the new normal, Iran controlling the strait, taking a toll on every ship that passes, paid for by the rest of the world.

That is not going to change any time soon.

So, yeah, grabbing a couple of pilots would be about the worst thing they could do.

Now if they DID shoot down the copter, it shows, at relatively low cost/risk they are capable of projecting force.

Which helps them control the strait.

This is all pretty simple, seems most people haven't caught on yet.

Funny thing I heard today.

CNN has had 37 or 38 headlines that Piggy was announcing a deal to finish the war was imminent. 14 weeks, 37 times Piggy said the war was just about won.

Over 2 and a half times a week or once every 2 and half days Piggy has announced the end was near.

See a pattern?

This is the new normal.

Get used to it

6 months from now Piggy will be saying the exact same thing

#13 | Posted by truthhurts at 2026-06-09 09:44 PM | Reply

Remember to end this war, Piggy has to get Iran to agree to give up their control of the strait.

With what bargaining chip?

Sanctions relief? Money?

---- that can snap back the minute commerce is flowing again?

NOPE

You think Iran is going to trust Piggy who cravenly bombed them during negotiations, during peace time, without warning, without notice, without any justification, TWICE?

The cowardly sneak attack that killed the Iranian leader and his family including babies

You think Iran is going to believe ANY assurance from Piggy?

NOPE

We are in the new normal.

Just remember this obvious point, Piggy's announcements are NOTHING MORE THAN MARKET MANIPULATION.

Look at today's stock market.

There was a massive drop a couple of hours BEFORE the copter going down was announced.

Was that insider knowledge? Of course it was. That shorting of the market has happened every time Piggy makes an announcement.

This is your corrupt government.

This is the new normal.

#14 | Posted by truthhurts at 2026-06-09 09:50 PM | Reply

Piggy could not care less about this war. He is bored with it. He has said that.

And, I forgot to add something.

"Peace" or a "deal" with Iran will require peace with Israel.

Let that sink in.

The war will not end until there is peace in the middle east between Israel and their neighbors.

How difficult could that be?

This is the new normal.

I am honestly shocked that pundits think a "deal" is forthcoming.

I expect nothing from the MSM, their too corporate and cowardly to report the truth or even frame this illegal, unjust, unjustifiable war in the proper light.

But someone in the pundit class surely should be able to see the obvious conclusion of the simple facts reported.

Curious Sentinal, how close and what type of guidance system would be required to bring down a helicopter hovering in the Gulf of Oman from the coast of Iran? Would they have that capability? My understanding it is still conjecture as to what actually downed the Apache in the first place.

Money, stupid. There is a bounty on US aviators.

"Provincial governors and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) placed a bounty of roughly $60,000 (or a "precious prize") on the heads of any downed American aviators"

#25 | Posted by sitzkrieg at 2026-06-10 08:52 AM | Reply

So Iran would risk massive bombing in retaliation for a grand total of $120000?

Gee you're special

#26 | Posted by truthhurts at 2026-06-10 09:06 AM | Reply

Iran places the bounties, so yes, yes they would. The bounty is for Iranian civilians to grab them. It's 82,510,500,007.76 rial, which is 7 years of income for the average Iranian. Per pilot. Get both and your entire family is now financial stable for 15 years. Cost to Iran is minimal and they gain a huge advantage in negotiations. They've already been massively bombed. It doesn't trigger regime change. There's no navy or air force left to bomb. Leadership is replaced as fast as you kill them. They're under blockade so energy isn't being exported to begin with.

#27 | Posted by sitzkrieg at 2026-06-10 10:26 AM | Reply

"If we get these 2 American pilots, our negotiating position would be worse." is the dumbest line of thought put forth about this conflict in awhile. Trumpian even.

#28 | Posted by sitzkrieg at 2026-06-10 10:27 AM | Reply

If 7 years of upper middle class income isn't sweet enough of a deal to risk your life grabbing an American pilot, because why would you when you can just bang on a keyboard?

For the minimum wage Iranians, it's 41 years of income. Enough to make you think about taking a fishing boat to the site of where that helicopter went in. Except now there's a bunch of converted 737s, F-18s, F-35s, satellites, etc, staring at that spot ready to rain harpoons on you.

In a related matter:

It seems curious that there's little info being disseminated about how this helicopter crashed. IOW: how can an Apache helicopter be shot down over a hostile body of water and the two pilots are "OK"?

Unless, of course, it was NOT shot down. What if it's simple pilot error, a bird got sucked into the engine, a drone (ours or theirs) clipped the tail rotor, mechanical failure, etc., etc. . I'm (probably recklessly) presuming the controlled info that's being released is even moderately accurate. The only thing that seems certain is President Trump is touting this event as a hostile action worthy of an escalated response.

Just an observation ...

Pretty handily. Manpads aren't giant warheads, quad rotors even smaller. When things go wrong helicopters autorotate instead of smashing into the ground.

If you want to outright delete an Apache you have to show up with an anti-tank missile or theater defense weapons.
