Congressman Ro Khanna (D-CA) was detained by Israeli settlers armed with US-made rifles during a West Bank visit this week. "We were at a village that Israeli settlers had destroyed, they had destroyed the school, they had destroyed that village, and we were just looking at it," he reported.

Israeli Settlers have murdered 1,244 Palestinians in the West Bank over the past three years (2023 - 2025), according to Oxfam's analysis of UN data.

Since 1948 under both Democratic and Republican Party administrations, the peace-loving, hardworking American taxpayer has sent the Labor and Likud governments of Israel, a prosperous and nuclear-armed country with world class universal healthcare for her residents, over $317.9bn, the most US economic aid given to any nation in the world.

In 2025 alone, the US sent Israel $12 billion which could have instead paid for 1,982,488 American families with one year's free groceries. That would have been a pragmatic use of American taxpayer dollars.

Now,That's a Fine Looking fellow, with a Stylish Headcovering.

No Dopey Earlocks, and no Dumb Beanie.

Standing Opposed, I Assume?

Islam is more Consistent with Civilization.

Or at least with Reason.

IMHO.

I realize Opinions vary.

Not Antisemitic...Anti Beanie.

Anti weird Haircuts: Not anti Jew.

Hijabs are more acceptable than the Beanies.

The Beanies kinda suck actually, and the Earlocks are almost universal amongst the "Settlers", Usurping Bastages.

Those beanies are called kippahs (or yarmulkes in Yiddish).

The armed Talib in the photo is an Afghan Pashtun who is supposed to follow the ancient creed of Pakhtunwali, which is their code of honor that pre-dates Islam.

Went into a foreign country without having An Israeli government security detail.

Without notifying the authorities, they were lucky to be alive.

Claiming to be a US official could have created a bigger mess.

Americans thinking their rights protect them overseas are idiots.

He got to see how Israel and its inhabitants are really like. They weren't able to mask the ugliness. Brave man.

"Settlers" is a kinda weird thing to call genocidal colonizers.

How about "pioneers"? That's what Americans call the folks who cleared-out the people living wherever the newcomers showed up. It's been prettified, which is why we call it "American Exceptionalism" and "Manifest Destiny." Sounds a bit grander than "rape, pillage, murder, and mayhem." And with the blessing of God, no less.

their country, their rules and his position in the US does not grant him any favored status.

IMO he should have been held for 24 hours, not jsut one. Thinks he's something because he has millions from marrying.

It's historically accurate.
It's what our settlers did, backed by the United States Cavarly.

United States Cavalry
The "plains cavalry" played an important role in extending American hegemony into western North America by forcefully subduing and displacing Native Americans from their lands during the western Indian Wars, thereby making way for colonists of primarily European descent. In 1832, Congress formed the Battalion of Mounted Rangers to protect settlers along the east[clarification needed] bank of the Mississippi River and to keep the Santa Fe trail open. The battalion comprised volunteers organized into six companies of 100 men.

You do not have to look particularly long or especially hard at this country's westward march to perceive the dominant themes of territorial dispossession and genocidal destruction. I take note of this not to excuse Israeli behavior, which I condemn, but to point out that many/most Americans really have never come to terms with what "American Exceptionalism" and Manifest Destiny" - let alone "imperialism" and "colonialism" - really mean.

Who cares? Just more umbilicus gazing.

You know what "coming to terms means"? You giving, 5th generation decedents someone else's property.

Get on with your life. All this is just meant to make you hate your own country.

It is hard to overstate the hope that followed the fall of apartheid in South Africa in 1994. The newly elected African National Congress was well positioned to move the country into a new era of equality and prosperity for all citizens. South Africa not only had abundant natural resources at its disposal but also boasted a well-developed industrial economy and the continent's top university system.

After nearly a half-century of apartheid, however, South African leaders argued that formal equality wasn't enough. Instead, as the argument went, a transitional period of redress for nonwhites was required. These efforts included affirmative action, land reform, and "black economic empowerment," among others. For example, the government bought white-owned farms and distributed them to black South Africans, many of whom lacked the skills and knowledge to run them successfully. As a result, once-profitable farming operations fell into disrepair and underuse, weakening both economic productivity and food security.

Why can't you admit you have a better system than what existed before? Why wouldn't you want it to go forward, as opposed to going backwards to at time where Indians were raping the women of other tribes with wonton abandon? Its the myth of the noble savage.

Somethings are just better for more people, the American system is better than anything that came before. Embrace it.

Why are Americans so ashamed of themselves?

On a more serious note, Americans who spend time examining IDF and "settler" behavior may see many reflections of the certainties believed in and terrors inflicted by people who proclaimed they engaged in divinely-sanctioned behaviors in furtherance of some hoohaw farago shrouded in the respectability of conventional wisdom.

Says a supporter of the cult that is toppling the american system. Your cult turned its back on democracy as soon as their cult leader lost an election.
