Excerpt of CAIR's response to the imbecilic Texas Governor Greg Abbott:

As a former FBI official in charge of counterterrorism once said, "Of all the groups, there is probably more suspicion about CAIR, but when you ask people for cold hard facts, you get blank stares." The real reason anti-Muslim hate groups and pro-Israel lobby group obsessively target CAIR and other American Muslim institutions is because of our steadfast advocacy for Palestinian rights. Sadly, your office has spent months stoking anti-Muslim hysteria to smear American Muslims critical of the Israeli government.
By defaming another prominent American Muslim institution with debunked conspiracy theories and made-up quotes, you have once again shown that your top priority is advancing anti-Muslim bigotry, not serving the people of Texas.
Unlike your office, which has unleashed violence against Texas students protesting the Gaza genocide to satisfy your AIPAC donors, our civil rights organization answers to the American people, relies on support from the American people, and stands up for American values. We have successfully sued you three different times for shredding the First Amendment for the benefit of the Israeli government, and we are ready to do so again if you attempt to turn this publicity stunt into actual policy.
CAIR plans to continue opposing all forms of bigotry, speaking out against injustice here and abroad, and defending the Constitution's guarantees of free speech.

"Roger, HQ. I got that darned Mohammedan in sight. Request back up, she looks dangerous in that hijab. Over."

Investigators Think They've Solved the Mystery of the Baltimore Bridge Crash
www.scientificamerican.com

... A tiny, misplaced label on the ship that hit the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore in 2024 may have caused the catastrophic crash that killed six people, U.S. officials revealed on Tuesday. ...

Investigators at the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have reported that a small label wrapped around a critical wire that was plugged into one of the many terminal boxes on the cargo ship had, over the course of years, caused the wire to come loose, tripping a breaker and causing the initial power outage on the ship.

"This tragedy should have never occurred," said Jennifer Homendy, chair of the NTSB, said at a board meeting on Tuesday, according to the New York Times.

The report also found that the Dali's crew had responded appropriately to the emergency. Because of the ship's size and uncontrollable drifting, however, the crew's actions to try to prevent the crash were ultimately futile. ...

So, Mayor-elect Mamdani now has the support of the NYC PD Commissioner.

Mamdani says New York City's current police commissioner will stay on the job
www.pbs.org

... Mamdani, 34, has vowed to remake the department as mayor by shifting some responsibilities from the police to new mental health care teams. Tisch is the heiress to a multibillion-dollar family fortune and is considered a steady, establishment moderate with nearly two decades in public service.

She has been a fierce critic of the state's bail reform laws, which Mamdani supports, and has called on the city to hire more officers. Mamdani has walked back his previous comments about defunding the police, but he said he will keep the department's headcount even.

In an email to officers Wednesday, Tisch acknowledged the different views she has with Mamdani but said a series of conversations with him had made her "confident" that she can lead the department under his mayoralty. ...

@#9 ... The Cloudflare thing just recently ...

Cloudflare broke itself -- and a big chunk of the Internet " with a bad database query
www.theregister.com

... Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince has admitted that the cause of its massive Tuesday outage was a change to database permissions, and that the company initially thought the symptoms of that adjustment indicated it was the target of a "hyper-scale DDoS attack," before figuring out the real problem.

Prince has penned a late Tuesday post that explains the incident was "triggered by a change to one of our database systems' permissions which caused the database to output multiple entries into a feature file' used by our Bot Management system."

The file describes malicious bot activity and Cloudflare distributes it so the software that runs its routing infrastructure is aware of emerging threats.

Changing database permissions caused the size of the feature file to double and grow beyond the file size limit Cloudflare imposes on its software. When that code saw the illegally large feature file, it failed. ...

Saudi-led intervention in the Yemeni civil war
en.wikipedia.org

... On 26 March 2015, Saudi Arabia, leading a coalition of nine countries from West Asia and North Africa, staged a military intervention in Yemen at the request of Yemeni president Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, who had been ousted from the capital, Sanaa, in September 2014 by Houthi insurgents during the Yemeni civil war.

Efforts by the United Nations (UN) to facilitate a power sharing arrangement under a new transitional government collapsed, leading to escalating conflict between government forces, Houthi rebels, and other armed groups, which culminated in Hadi fleeing to Saudi Arabia shortly before it began military operations in the country. ...

Riders on the Storm
en.wikipedia.org

... "Riders on the Storm" is a song by American rock band the Doors, released in June 1971 by Elektra Records as the second single from the band's sixth studio album, L.A. Woman. It is known for being the last song that Jim Morrison recorded prior to his sudden death in Paris on July 3, 1971. ...

The lyrics were written and brought to rehearsal by Morrison, of which a portion of it refers to hitchhiking killer Billy "Cockeyed" Cook, who was the subject of the 1953 film, The Hitch-Hiker.[9] Manzarek noted that some lines express Morrison's love to his companion Pamela Courson.[15] ...

Why Left-Handed Eating Is Frowned Upon In The Middle East (May 2024)
www.foodrepublic.com

... In many parts of the world, it's not uncommon for hands to be the go-to utensils for enjoying a meal. For most of human history, hands have been the primary tool for most things, food consumption included.

Today, the tradition is governed by cultural etiquette rules in much of India, Africa, and the Middle East -- the birthplaces of human civilization. In majority-Muslim countries, Islamic doctrine dictates that food should be consumed with the right hand, a decree by the Prophet Muhammad that can be found in the Qur'an.

This is one of the reasons why in most Middle Eastern countries, the left and right hands have distinct purposes when it comes to activities involving cleanliness and consumption.

Custom dictates that the left hand should be reserved for bodily hygiene purposes, or "unclean" activities, while the right hand is favored for eating, greeting, and other such "clean" activities.

It's best practice to default to the right hand for gift-giving, handing over money, or greeting another person -- while the left is primarily for cleaning oneself.

For this reason, using the left hand to eat or shake someone's hand is considered not only unhygienic but potentially insulting as well. ...

Some background on Comm. Tisch ...

Police Commissioner, Heiress and Maybe a Future New York City Mayor (April 2025)
www.nytimes.com

... Jessica S. Tisch, the billionaire heiress who is commissioner of the New York Police Department, had just walked into the dining hall on one of her first days at Harvard when she was accosted with an unmannerly question: How much did she weigh?

She was taken aback, but it turned out that the men's lightweight crew team was looking for a coxswain, who shouts orders to the rowers. They needed someone both light and commanding. "They described it to me as, You sit in front of the boat and you tell everyone what to do,'" she recalled in a recent interview.

It had definite appeal.

"I ended up being pretty good at it because of my personality," she said. "I didn't use my muscles so much. I used my voice and my brain." In the end, she concluded, it was "quite the foreshadow" of an unlikely and remarkable career.

Commissioner Tisch, 44, is now five months into a job running the nation's largest police department and telling nearly 50,000 civilian and uniformed employees what to do. Taking command of an agency rocked by scandals and the departure of three commissioners over two years, she has already shaken up the staff and managed her first crisis, the hunt for a man charged with assassinating a United Healthcare executive.

The question is whether a woman with three Harvard degrees, a $12 million Upper East Side duplex and no experience as a uniformed officer can succeed in one of the city's toughest jobs. Her success will be defined in large part by how well she cleans up the battered department and how much she brings down the crime rate, both tall orders in New York. ...

"Reporters Just EXPOSED Pam Bondi's Epstein Coverup TO HER FACE"

SO the obvious and predictable SCAM is here.

Trumpers SO proud!

Of course, none of you refute anything in the linked article. . It's ALL personal attacks. It's all any of you have these days.

SINCE you want a real refutation...

Trump's White House has...
1. Lost 200 civil cases already for violating the law
2. Crushed Free Speech by forcing people off the air, deporting anyone who disagrees with him, etc. and rewarding those who praise him
3. Used ICE without warrants or due process against non-citizens and citizens alike
4. Sent the National Guard after US citizens without cause
5. Enriched himself using the office of the presidency to the tune of billions
6. Pardon people who helped him cover up crimes, supported him, and donated to him BECAUSE they helped him cover up crimes, supported him, or donated to him
7. Encouraged his own people to go after anyone who disagrees with him including Judges
8. Weaponized the DOJ to file criminal charges so frivilous that they are about to be tossed out of Court already
9. Withheld Congressionally appointed funding in violation of the separation of powers
10. Accepted foreign gifts in the hundreds of millions of dollars
11. Used the FBI to remove Trump's name from criminal records involving pedophile Jeffrey Epstein

THESE are things that shred the safeguards of the Republic, not refusing to vote Yes on a spending bill because Republicans refuse to negotiate.

And YOU are whining like a little cry baby micropenis snowflake because Dems wanted two things added to the spending bill but refuse to hold anything against Republicans for refusing to negotiate or doing the same thing before themselves. The Republic isn't a One Party System. If Republicans refuse to negotiate, nothing will get done when it requires 60 votes. That's on them.

So Pedo Lover, do you want me to keep making you look like an idiot?
