Some of the opposition is driven by how the deportations are being carried out especially with 2 fatal shootings over a short span of time.
Having said that, even if the deportation process was more restrained and the rhetoric from the administration was more careful and less reckless and incendiary, Democrats and their allies would still oppose this tooth and nail.

100% chance of that. It's politics and it's fine. But I said originally on this thread....ICE has managed to justify the opposition all by themselves.

IOW, they've made it easy for democrats to oppose this, despite the fact they would have regardless.

I don't disagree with you but it's not really that relevant anymore. Democrats were a lock to come out against any of this ICE expansion.

It may be merely politically based opposition but these recent murders are shifting public support for what ICE is doing.

All good intentions (if there were any) or any actual good acts are being washed away by these killings.
