I've been to Florida a couple of times, about 30 years apart. Really nice weather in January.
I've always seen the stupidest stories come out of Florida, as relating to both criminal and police behavior.

This will not last long. Buyers will find that homeowners insurance is very expensive and offers minimal coverage, if it can be found at all. The HOA assessment in a relatives building in Naples has more than doubled in the past three years, on top of the special assessments after the two recent hurricanes that came aground nearby in the past three years. Schools in Florida stink on ice so few with children and a desire to have them be literate will want to be there. They still have good roads and plenty of meth. So there is that ...

There's a southern migration taking place in the U.S. today, and it's not since of the weather condition. The National Association of Realtors' 2024 Migration Trends report launched today reveals Southern states controlled in drawing in one of the most individuals to move within their borders in 2015, and just 1% of those who moved stated they did so since of climate-related factors, according to its analysis of U.S. Census Bureau information. The research study discovered 42% of the Americans who relocated to a various state in 2015 pointed out real estate factors, while 26% did so for household factors and 16% leapt borders for work factors. Just 2% stated they moved due to return-to-office policies.

Actually 1 out of 5 seniors here are seeking or have moved out of Florida. We're seeing property prices drop, finally. Some areas nearly 30%.

Florida's tax base lives on tourism sales tax dollars. Other states don't have that luxury.
If its all about taxes in Blue states, why aren't they flocking to Mississippi or Missouri or Georgia?
