Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, February 19, 2025

European officials are working to put together a multibillion dollar package aimed at boosting collective security in the region and supporting Ukraine in what will be the largest of its kind so far, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said over the weekend.

The U.K. newspaper Financial Times reported on Monday that Trump intends to give in to Putin's demands to withdraw U.S. troops from former Soviet nations, including the Baltics.

The $700 billion isn't just aid to Ukraine, but for rebooting Europe's defense industry.

In less than a month, Hair Furor has alienated our allies and undermined decades of relationship-building, leading Europe to abandon the US military industrial complex in favor of strengthening its own.

Good job MAGAts, hope those defense industry layoffs don't smack you in the butt too hard on your way to the unemployment office.

Sure, they're footing more of the bill. And they're also building their own weapons because they realize that they can't rely upon the US when the chips are down, even when there is no doubt which side we should be on.

Wear that MAGAt had with pride. Or swap it out for an ushanka. They mean about the same thing at this point.

#4 | Posted by censored at 2025-02-18 04:43 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 3

They've always built their own weapons. Typhoon, Challenger, Lepoard (spelling), Gepard, Rafale, Famas, HK, etc, etc, etc, etc... They never built them in volume, and we know for 100% certainty they do not have the volume to sustain a modern conflict.

Yes, they've always built their own. And now they know they can't rely on US, they have every incentive to increase their own production and cut the US out of the equation wherever possible. With the side-effect of encouraging them to push their own weapon sales abroad.

Censored genuine question ... Are Republicans Nazis or Communists now? It's hard to keep up.
#6 | Posted by Bluewaffles

I think you might be conflating Republicans with MAGAts. It's an easy mistake to make as there is significant overlap. But there is stark difference between Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Reagan, the Bushes and their voters from the Orange Miscreant and his supporters.

And Russia isn't communist. Its fascist.

Ruscism, a portmanteau of Russian fascism, is a neologism and a derogatory term which is used to describe the political ideology and policies of the Russian state under Vladimir Putin. It is used in reference to the Russian state's autocratic political system, ultranationalism and neo-imperialism, militarism, expansionism, corporatism, close alignment of church and state, political repression, use of censorship and state propaganda, and a cult of personality around Putin.

Pretty much describes the MAGAt mentality to the tee, swapping out Hair Furor for Putin.

Numerous sectors of Russian economy collapsed by as much as 90%, energy export revenues dropped by 50%."

Ukraine went full Israel in the Donbass. They Oppressed and attempted to ethnic cleanse the people of the Donbass. NATO encouraged them. NATO made big promises they couldn't or wouldn't keep.

The Ukrainian leadership just assumed the West to be trustworthy.

Bad Assumption. That's why they are stupid. Thinking the US was reliable.

Russia has been hurt by the war but Ukraine has been devastated.

All to please Western Vampires.

NATO doesn't give a ---- about the Ukraine. They used them as a Patsy.

I bet that doesn't happen again soon. The US is not Agreement Capable.

We break every treaty we've ever signed going back to the Indian Wars.

You are just WRONG on the Facts:

"In April 2014, Russian-backed militants seized towns in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region and proclaimed the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) as independent states, starting the Donbas war.

Russia covertly supported the separatists with its own troops, tanks and artillery, preventing Ukraine from fully retaking the territory. In February 2015, Russia and Ukraine signed the Minsk II agreements, but they were never fully implemented in the years that followed."

Its not a treaty it's an agreement. Agreements are broken all the time.

This is what MAGAtS have been claiming since the war broke out "How long do we need to support Ukraine"

Now you, Corky and Yav are claiming the same thing.

Morally, the USA was one of Ukraine's guarantors of security when it convinced Ukraine to give up the arsenal of nuclear weapons it inherited when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991.

If America is interested in a world where human rights and democracy retain any value, it should have prevented Putin from colonizing free peoples.

But it didn't, it failed horribly, even enticed Russia to invade through provication, Biden even said a "minor incursion" was OK.
