DOGE discovered that the VA was previously paying ~$380,000/month for minor website modifications. That contract has not been renewed, and the same work is now being executed by 1 internal VA software engineer spending ~10 hours/week.
I understand the media likes to get everyone riled up by harping on Social Security and snap benefits, and scaring people into thinking those are going to be taken away. But let's be clear, a lot of the waste they have found so far hasn't been nefarious. Such as severance payments still being paid to someone who passed away. Elon compared it to leaving the money faucet running. So not everything they're uncovering is criminal behavior, it's simply something that's been overlooked, bad decision making or lack of transparency.

And I would like it if you would rehire the Inspectors General whose job it was to point out problems like that to Congress. Whose job it is to perform oversight on federal agencies.

Most of them were progressives, evidenced by how they were not doing their jobs and finding all this waste DOGE has found. If they were doing their jobs, there would not have been a need for DOGE..
