Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The Posse Comitatus Act bars federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement except when expressly authorized by law. This 143-year-old law embodies an American tradition that sees military interference in civilian affairs as a threat to both democracy and personal liberty. However, recent events have revealed dangerous gaps in the law's coverage that Congress must address.

"This 143-year-old law embodies an American tradition that sees military interference in civilian affairs as a threat to both democracy and personal liberty." Which is exactly highlight the intention of Trump because these protests highlight the lack of necessity and the intentional cruelty of these mass deportations!

If we had a Supreme Court Trump could not get away with much of what he does.

Yes, but....

Expect one or more of them to come here to explain why the law and the Constitution mean that Donald Trump doesn't have to obey the law or the Constitution.

Trump is sending an additional 2,000 National Guard to LA because someone critiqued his sending the first 2,000.

They aren't needed. They're another expression of Donald's hurt fee-fees.

Expect another battalion of Marines to be sent to LA for above reasons.

He's a big, fat orange man-baby that's never, ever lived up to daddies unrealistic expectations. He's spent his whole life trying to be a "man" - clueless as to what that actually means,

And he's the president who can, legally, send Marines anywhere he wants. Including to LA. Now what the Marines can do once there? They can't do anything against the populace. The question is, is that message being drilled into them on this deployment or not? This can go sideways real fast - which is what that traitor that infests the White House wants.

Sue the FCCK out of Trump and his Admin. End this error.

LOCK HIM UP!

Back to Trump's attempted coup resulting in police deaths, since false equivalency is your game: do you favor Trump pardoning folks in LA like he did with the MAGAts who proved themselves traitors?

Just curious.

Donald Trump intends for American citizens to be murdered on the streets.

If it doesn't work out for him this time, he'll try again.

He'll feel forced to try again from out of sick, sick pride; a real ambition to be dictator; and desperation at a second presidential term that has failed from the start.

WASHINGTON: After slipping on the steps of Air Force One yet another time, on Monday Donald J. Trump ordered the National Guard to carry him up to his plane.

In an executive order declaring a national emergency, Trump pronounced the metal stairs "An Enemy of the People."

Trump refused to rule out a sweeping ban on stairs, telling reporters, "We're looking into that very strongly."

A guardsman who helped carry Trump was taken aback by his poor physical condition, remarking, "I guess he was in better shape when he boarded Epstein's plane."

The Posse Comitatus Act bars federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement except when expressly authorized by law.

It is authorized by law, when federal government is prevented from enforcing federal law.

Step out of the echo chamber. It is authorized by law when CONGRESS VOTES TO ALLOW IT. A president can not call up the troops against the American People on his own. That is what dictators do.

WASHINGTON: In what critics are calling an inflammatory move, Donald J. Trump announced on Tuesday that he was sending Stephen Miller to Los Angeles to act as a human repellant.

"No one empties a room faster than Stephen," Trump said. "He's better than teargas."

But Trump's plan faces a stiff legal challenge from human rights lawyers, who argue that the use of Stephen Miller violates the Geneva Conventions.

SO it turns out that the National Guard were sent with no food, no water, and no shelter; they are sleeping basically on top of each other in Detention Center basements and being guarded by, you guessed it, the LA Police... who obviously have better things to do.

This is like all of Trump's fiascos; done to build hatred against 'the Other' just as Despots and Dictators have done to take and keep power for centuries past.

If not for the LAPD it already would have. They are actually the hero's in this story.. so far. How they managed to stabilize the situation in spite of Trumpy's best efforts to destabilize it is a minor miracle.

The longer Trumpy provokes the crowds by sending in more armed military (not trained in crowd control) the greater the chances that one side or the other escalates the situation out of control.
