Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, March 10, 2025

"I never said cut, not in these days. I'd love to cut defense spending but not now, because you have China, you have Russia, you have a lot of problems out there," Trump said on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures." The president has backed a House GOP budget plan that would increase the military budget by $100 billion and has also ordered the development of a massive new missile defense system for the US, dubbed the "Iron Dome for America," which will come with a huge price tag.

What he's really saying is deficit spending will never cease under his administration.

Especially not with the tax cuts they're ramming through.

" ordered the development of a massive new missile defense system for the US, dubbed the "Iron Dome for America," which will come with a huge price tag."

It's like when your baseball team needs pitchers and shortstops, and the owners spend a brazilian dollars on a washed-up outfielder.

We'll NEVER cut military spending. It's the only way we as Americans feel like we're big gun on the world's stage. Sad to say that but it's the truth.

We'll never address the two largest expenses that taxpayers pay for... the debt we owe (and continue to increase) for interest on the debt paid to Banks, and the ever expanding (and overpaying to Corporations for everything) Military.

Those are untouchable Corporations. Then when you add the tax cuts that the poor and middle class are losing to the Oligarchs, you have the budget deficit increases.

Trump Says the US Can't Cut Military Spending

If anything, he continued, we must increase it! "The Iron Dome for America, ... will come with a huge price tag."

Meanwhile, grandma and grandpa's social security and Medicare must be eliminated.

What did they expect, the nation they spent their whole lives working for and contributing to would take care of them in their senior years?

This nation has zero empathy for anyone and loves its guns!

Why should billionaires be forced to pay for the military that's keeping them safe and protecting their wealth?

We should shoulder that burden.

They're our betters.

Define cut?

Over time military spending has decreased as percentage of GDP since WWII.

While government spending increased as percentage of GDP.

Military spending is easily cuttable.

Just don't upgrade the "nuclear detterant".

Just close 500 offshore military bases. No New Fighters.

Audit the Pentagon and eliminate "Fraud and Waste". There's billions of dollars of THAT.

Easy Peasy.

Then stop subsidies to Weapons Manufacturers.

Billions more Saved.

No Subsidies for Billionaires.

More Saving.

Who cares?

Look how easily Russia took over the US. Not a shot fired.

What decade since 1776?

There has only been 17 years.

Face it. America is a Warlike Nation.

War is our Great Economic Engine.

Without it, our Economy would Sputter. It Creates Demand.

War also makes Authoritarian Government more Tolerable and Dissent less Pointed.

It makes Dissent look like "treason" to Simple people.

Which is almost everyone in America.

Land of the "Poorly Educated".

Trump figgered that out a while ago.

No one ever lost money betting on the stupidity of the American Electorate.

Because if we were not pretty good at it then we would not be The United States of America.

We would be a patchwork of Republics.

Balkanized and eternally at war with each other.

Instead of our "Full Spectrum Dominance"

Lol.

It's pretty clear based on language use that OneIronTurd has been replaced by a more eloquent, yet equally dumb, Russian troll.

Maybe the original was sent to the Ukrainian front to intercept some bullets. Wonder how long it will be before the new one gets his "shot" at that career change.
