CNN's data guru Harry Enten has broken down the numbers on the level "regretful" Donald Trump voters who claim to no longer support the president"and it doesn't look good for the Democrats. According to Enten, just two percent of Republican voters say they would change their vote if a hypothetical rematch between Trump and Kamala Harris were to happen tomorrow, with just one percent saying they would rather not vote at all.

"I mean this is the big question, right? I hear all these stories, all these articles, all the Trump voters, saying they regret what they did back in 2024." Enten remarked. "I'm here to tell you, very few of them regret what they did back in 2024."

The data guru, citing a new poll from YouGov, said that for all the talk about buyer's remorse, a repeat of last November's election would likely end up with the exact same result.

Enten was keen to point out that pitting two people's popularity against each other produces a different result than asking to judge them in isolation"and that the president's current unpopularity does not translate into electoral gains for the Democrats.

He also highlighted the fact that Republicans are currently enjoying a rare lead over Democrats in terms of party recognition, with a recent poll putting them at +2% satisfaction.

"If anything, the Republican brand has actually perhaps gotten a smidgen stronger, though these are within the margin of error, very different from 2017 when Democrats held a 5 point advantage," he explained. "And I'll finally note this looks very much like the generic ballot trend, which in 2025 looks an awful bit like November of 2024 when Republicans, of course won and held the House."

Did we expect those idiots to learn anything?

They've been unable to learn enough to lead a fulfilling, successful life and blame everyone for their lot in life. Why would they start now?

MAGA is a drug and addiction to drugs isn't something one can just toss aside when the losses become greater or even life-threatening.

Addiction begins with the hope that something of an external nature can be internalized and instantly fill up an emptiness felt inside.

MAGA does that for many people. It doesn't matter that it leads to ruin. It's the high that counts. The dealer will deal just as surely as the user will use.

Um.... no longer supporting the President and changing their vote to Harris are NOT the same thing.

Lame polling.

Yes, I believe most others did expect them to learn something.

And if this poll reflected that, everyone would be saying "See?? I told you this would backfire!!!"

And to a certain extent, even I believed these idiots would figure out something eventually.

Eventually they will.

If Trump does as much damage as it looks like he will.

He's pissing off as many people as "adore", him.

The Democratic Party was captured by rich Donors and they lost their way long ago.

It may be too late to save the party. The energy put into the Democratic party could be channeled into a new party or parties.

Or the Dems could empower their left wing and stop selling out to Monied interests.

Trying to recruit Republicans isn't working.

100 million Americans are "independent" many are left, not right in outlook.

A big tent is best.

Just going after big donors and the suburbs while ignoring obvious platform ideas that help the many, Not the few,is why the Democratic party is lagging.

IMHO..

So says the guy that spent 6 years in college only to wind up washing beakers for $15/hour. He would get a $5/hr just by switching being unskilled labor at a fast food restaurant.

People get too bound up with their opinions. And the more they dig in their heels, the stupider they look.

And when stupid is already the starting point, things go south quickly.

Thirty percent or so will never change. That's just on the right.

Not true, the Dems broke below 30 and are still plunging towards irrelevance. Even the biggest posters on this liberal site are embarrassed to be identified as Democrats.

Name names.

Go for it.

Why you chose to post such easily disprovable nonsense is beyond me.

I'm assuming it's mostly due to Borden in hopes of getting anyone to take you seriously.

So, instead of addressing the points raised in that post, your current alias seems to feel its best response is an ad hominem attack?

A good indication that your current has got nothing here besides attempted disruption.

Danforth for one.

But, it would be better to do a direct look into the stats page - only 23% of posters on this site (which is basically a liberal echo chamber) identity as Democrat.

However, if you want to directly ask people to post if they are a Democrat, be my guest. You won't get many rushing to out themselves as a Democrat.

What is there to address? The GOP has a much higher median income, higher marriage rates, higher % of families, lower rates of incarceration, lower levels of mental illness than the Democrats . So, by every measure, the GOP is leading more fulfilling, successful lives than Democrats. As for blaming people, the Democrats are the perpetual victims - it is the whole basis behind critical race theory.

Yet, you're miserable f*&^s.

"Winning" an election predicated on "fixing" problems you caused with your voting habits.

Predicated also on "owning the liBrUlZZ!1"

And still they b*&^( and moan and complain and cheer when Constitutional right after Constitutional right is eroded and destroyed.

Yes, there's plenty to address.

You kinda proved my point. I'm not talking popularity. I'm talking willingness to change. R number isn't moving no matter what. D is searching for alternatives or expressing displeasure with status quo. Much healthier.

What a stupid question.

What a stupid article.

These people are never going to vote for a black woman.

If the Democrats want to win national elections they're going to have to nominate white heterosexual men.
