The United States struck three key nuclear sites in Iran overnight, leaping into Israel's eight-day military campaign against Iran with bunker-buster bombs, in a dramatic American attack that could reshape the Middle East for decades to come.

The United States should not wage war against Iran. Donald Trump's bombing of Iran is unconstitutional. Only Congress can declare war -- and the Senate must vote immediately to prevent an another endless war. This is a horrific war of choice.

More from the article ...

... An Iranian official said that the strikes had done no irreversible damage to the country's nuclear program, which it insists is designed for peaceful purposes.

Mr. Trump said Iran "must make peace" -- underscoring his previous demand of "unconditional surrender" by Iran -- and said that, "If they do not, future attacks will be far greater."

The White House portrayed the strikes as a one-off action alongside Israel, meant to avoid drawing the U.S. into a long and costly "forever war" like Iraq and Afghanistan.

Iran immediately on Sunday launched waves of missiles at Israel in retaliation, and described the American attack as the beginning of a new, much broader escalation of conflict. ...

@#1 ... The White House portrayed the strikes as a one-off action ...

While I hope this is the case, I will say, it remains to be seen.

One off action? So, it didn't work?

@#3 ... So, it didn't work? ...

Is it known yet, whether or not it worked?

Is it known yet, whether or not it worked?

I guess that depends on how you define "worked". Lewzer grabbed the headlines from Bibi, so I suppose it worked.

Yes, it does depend upon that.

But not my definition of "worked," but Pres Trump's definition.

So, what did Pres Trump say his goal was going into this bombing?

And did he achieve that stated goal?

And did he achieve that stated goal?

He got the headlines back from Bibi, so yes.

While I wish I could counter the opinion you post, I cannot.

You can blame the enemy.

Amazing. NYT has more confirmation that Trump's decision to bomb Iran was motivated in large part by the way the Israeli strikes were "playing" on Fox News, which drove him to want some credit for it

Everyone knew that Trump would go to war over the divine madness of his own rotted ego.

The White House already walked that back.

It was "Obliterated" to "damaged" the nuclear facilities.

Now they are saying more strikes may be necessary. Trump is talking about regime change. And there has been an admission that nothing short of an invasion will stop Iran's efforts at nuclear weapons.

MAGA is cheering it on of course.

The end? Maybe if Iran avoids directly attacking the US and instead continues its war with Israel. But the Felon in Chief may get pissy because her actions didn't warrant a response and order up another bombing run for more attention. One thing is almost a certainty, Iranian leadership likely speculates Iran would not be under siege from Israel if Iran had nuclear weapons. Felon, or rather her handlers, is floating the "regime change" balloon. So I suspect this is just the beginning of Felon's war crimes.

Personally, I feel we're witnessing first hand the Felon's attempt to solidify her name in America's history books. Desperate for any kind of legacy, Felon's actions seem to be those of one grasping at any action for which they will be enshrined, if even in infamy.

Does Iran really have a choice? There's gotta be a response.

Hopefully they'll be able to pick a surgical option and take out a golf course or two. Preferably while Lewzer is there.

The end of the beginning maybe. Iran has 90 million people in it and more "friends" in the surrounding area. That's a third the size of America in population.

And we just helped wound it. And then bragged about it. These people are all about revenge and retribution. They have been living it for generations. They WILL attempt to get revenge. Americans will be hurt because of it.

A wounded beast is very dangerous.
