The HORRIBLE Truth About Iran the West Doesn't Understand - Matthew Syed

What is this guy droning on about? This is all the same propaganda we heard during the Reagan Administration.

It's this thing called history; Iran's people are some of the most welcoming in the world... their leadership is a nationalistic, fundamentalist, violent authoritarian Dictatorship/martyr cult... sorta like ours is becoming.

There's no sane country, even their allies in the area, who really want them to have a nuke, because odds are they will use it.

Which doesn't mean that Israel shouldn't be bunker bombed for what they are doing in Gaza.

No good guys in the leadership in either nation.

Not buying it. Iran very much understands the concept of proportional response. That video claims in the first few seconds that Iran won't understand MAD.

No question. They do. They're not going to first strike with a nuke.

What Iran having a nuke WILL do is deter the zionist entity.

"What's that? Are you suggesting that it would be a bad idea for Iran, a nation that sponsors suicide attacks targeting civilians (Iran and state-sponsored terrorism en.wikipedia.org) and is run by a messianic apocalyptic cult which has put up a countdown clock to the 2040 destruction of Israel prophesied by one of their Ayatollah Asa-Whollahs, to acquire nuclear weapons? What a strange thought!"

It's not a What About Israel thing... as I noted above, they deserve (more accurate) bunker bombs dropped on them for what they have done and are doing right now in Gaza.

But I'm glad you agree that there are no good guys in this fight.

Thus, the aforementioned Iranian Doomsday clock (en.wikipedia.org) set to give Israel a delightful buzz 15 short years from now. It came to Ayatollah Asa-Whollah in a dream, and the Iranians are just developing nukes so the Jews don't make Allah into a liar by not spontaneously combusting.

Let's see ... .Iran's nuclear ambitions appear to have been set back years. One single strike. No US casualties. No loss of US planes. Very few if any Iranians killed in the strike. Approximately $1 trillion in Iranian nuclear equipment destroyed. Hamas and Hezbolah on life support. Iran seriously weakened on the global stage. Russia and China choosing not to assist Iran. War over in 12 days with a cease fire in place.

All of that is a "humiliating flop"?

Zed,

The probl m is you see everything through a Trump prism. If Trump is even remotely involved it has to be 100% horrible from your POV. I will call out Trump when he gets something wrong. For example, I've been extremely critical of Trump's tariffs and how they've been rolled out.

I've chosen my words regarding this strike carefully. I have t used absolute definitives. It's difficult to 100% accurately assess the extent of the damages on a facility that is 30 stories below ground. Having said that, these munitions are designed for just such a target and they were delivered with precision.

"Iran's nuclear ambitions appear to have been set back years."

How many years? A half?

On 24 June The New York Times and CNN reported that a preliminary battle damage assessment by the Defense Intelligence Agency had concluded with low confidence that the U.S. strikes had set back Iran's nuclear program by a matter of months.

This war with Iran was just the distraction Trump needed in order for the Supreme Court to kill checks and balances set up by the founders of this nation in order to prevent any branch of government from exceeding its authority.

Keep worrying about uranium in Iran. It's absolutely crucial to know just how much they have and at what % it is.
