... Trump Taxes Benefit the Rich, Hurt the Poor ...

Well, yeah.

What else did you expect?

The CBO estimates that the 10% of poorest Americans will lose roughly $1,200 a year as they experience restrictions on government programs like Medicaid and food assistance, while the richest 10% of Americans will see their income increase by $13,600 from tax cuts."

'This really is a big, beautiful bill for billionaires, but for the poor and the working class in this country, you are actually poorer," said Rep. Brendan Boyle, the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee, in an MSNBC interview on Monday."

All I can say is, Thanks Again, Trumpers!!

Haven't you heard, higher prices and taxes are good for the country.

I see that our Trumpers don't want to talk about their own CBO Report.

Which shows exactly what Dems said it would... Billionaire Tax Cuts much more important than middle class tax cuts, and the poor paying for all of it.

Trumpers don't want to talk about their own the Deep State hoax CBO Report.

Is Trump's Fascist illegal takeover of law enforcement in Washington D.C. in preperation for the protests that will surely come as millions are stripped of their healthcare and food assistance even as food prices are rapidly rising. We need another "million man march" on Washington but would that be a "Kent State-like" slaughter? Is that what Adolph Trump is hoping for?
What if the National Guard troops just refused to shoot down American citizens for protesting? I do realize there has probable been some infiltration of the National Guard by Fascists but I do not believe they are the majority of the troops.

#8 | Posted by truthhurts at 2025-08-14 08:36 AM | Reply

That was the plan all along.

Their goal has always been to shift the cost of government onto the back of the middle class and off of the wealthy. If they could pass a tax bill that taxed income over $600K at 0% while imposing a 20% sales tax on everything they would.

The whole point of the tariffs is to make the middle class pay hundreds of billions more in taxes.

Why any idiot that makes less than $600,000 votes for these asshats is beyond me.

I think the SALT deduction increase is a factor in this. For me alone that's going to help by $3K or more.

They believe that one day they too will be very wealthy, and when they are they don't want to pay a lot of taxes.

"To whom much is given, much is expected."

Or from the original, JC speaking:

"From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked".

Which has obviously been left out of their copy of the Bible they are always pounding.

-Why any idiot that makes less than $600,000 votes for these asshats is beyond me.

why that threshold?

You think someone who makes $500K a year and pays over 30% of that income in federal, state and property taxes isn't going to be interested in which party wants to lower that tax bill?

You're calling them an idiot.

Why? There are plenty of reasons why folks in that income bracket vote for democrats and that's fine. I do as well.

But don't make it about tax policy.......that's something folks in that income range have to get past in order to vote for democrats......if you want to call them an idiot then fine.

What's a better threshold then?

"But don't make it about tax policy"

Fun fact:

Tax policy is connected to virtually everything government does, because taxation is the source of virtually all government revenue.

Eberly is clucking at us, don't you dare connect the Tax policy that calls for Medicaid cuts, to the Spend policy that calls for Medicaid cuts.

When you're a Republican, those two things are Totally Unrelated!

"these asshats"

and while you're at it....define "asshats".

President, Congress, State legislature, city commissioner, school board? These folks all have an impact on your tax bill.

You've voted, right? You've seen an actual ballot?

There are plenty here who haven't actually seen a ballot or they're clearly too stupid to understand one.

I'm hoping you're not one of them.

Which is in doubt.

more phrases you can't define.

"fair shake"? What does that mean?

Specifically for the guy making $500K a year you think in an idiot.

""I got mine, F everyone else"."

Especially the rich punk in the White House who has never worked a day in his priveleged life!

#22 | Posted by danni at 2025-08-14 09:21 AM | Reply

If you think $600K is a poor threshold then feel free to change it. Nixon threw it out probably with no real thought as to why.

Who is an idiot for voting for a republican because of their income level? Forget Trump for a moment..and just make it about the GOP in general.

No question folks who make the median income.....$60-70K or whatever.....I can see that argument as to why that's clearly voting against your own interest.

but where does it start to be voting IN your best interest to vote for the GOP? I'm specifically referring to their bottom line. income after taxes(all taxes), investment performance, etc...

#23 | Posted by eberly at 2025-08-14 09:25 AM | Reply | Funny: 1

Obviously a fair shake is Equal Protection Under the Law.

But asking for definitions is a tried and true obfuscation.

"If they could pass a tax bill that taxed income over $600K at 0% while imposing a 20% sales tax on everything they would."

Heard Trump just a few days ago bragging that tariffs were going to bring in so much revenue that we could just eliminate income tax which, in essence, is exactly what you just posted.

with tax brackets?? Do you even know that Equal protection under the law means?

"Equal Protection Under the Law."

It is a joke to mention "equal protection under the law" with this priveleged felon in the WH, right? For most American men cavorting with a 13 year old would have been punished by serious jail time and a "sex offender" label for life! But some are treated quite differently both lefally and popularly, Trump's MAGA cultists know he did it but overlook it for those born with silver cocain spoons in their noses.

-This will kill local communities.

The belief is that if you take $1,200 out of their hands...maybe they'll go get a job and earn the $1,200 instead of getting a handout.

But we all know that's not the reality overall.

#35 | Posted by eberly at 2025-08-14 11:39 AM | Reply

The belief is that if you take $1,200 out of their hands...

From 2020 to 2025, the national average minimum wage rose incrementally, from $8.82 to $9.24,

www.ibisworld.com

Let's say, 9.25 (I gave them a raise for easier math)

1,200/9.25 = 129.73 hours, so about 3 and a half weeks worth of work. (40 hour work week)

Despite the fact you seem to think poor people should work harder in order to live in America. This is absolutely ridiculous and what's going to kill America.

Meanwhile. Multimillionaires and billionaires are getting tax cuts on money they'll never be able to spend, in several generations.

Money they'll hide in offshore bank accounts and invest in other nations.

MAGA! Right?

But the $1,200 is going to end up back in the poors' hands.

They're not gonna. period.

What bubble are you living in?

Most working poor work two to three jobs to make ends meet.

What you're talking about are people living off government assistance who aren't going to pay anything, like the billionaires.

Where is the state gonna get it from? Do Mississippi.
