More from the article ...

... The reinstallation, which was first reported by The New York Times, marks the latest effort by the Trump administration to reverse the work of a congressionally mandated commission charged with scrubbing tributes to the Confederacy from the military.

In a brief email Friday, an Army spokesperson confirmed to Military.com that the Times report was accurate. West Point did not immediately respond to a request for comment, while the Pentagon deferred to the Army. ...

Congress created the commission in 2020, overriding a veto Trump issued during his first term, to examine how to remove Confederate names, statues and other tributes from military property. The law also mandated that the Pentagon implement the commission's recommendations. ...

I'm fascinated that leftists of today imagine that their outrage is somehow more relevant than the opinions of the people that actually were there and witnessed events firsthand. And as usual, the arrogance of self-righteousness compels them to attempt erasure and rewriting of history to fit their manufactured consensus, canceling much but understanding little.

Indeed. However removing statues and paintings is not erasing history. If you want to see actual history erasing watch what Trumpy is doing.

The Civil war killed 620,000 Americans and wrecked the southern economy.

The Covid war killed 1.2 million Americans and wrecked the American AND the global economies.

The Civil war was inevitable.

The Covid war was preventable.

Did The South not think of that before they started the war.

Or were they so in love with their White Supremacy that it was worth forcing The South into poverty forever.

True. And I agree.

Body counts are only one obvious way to measure the damage.

I agree it could take decades for our democratic institutions to recover. If we can recover.

Unfortunately Americans literally voted for this. And only Americans can undo the damage. No one is coming to save us from ourselves.

Lee, being a military hot commodity in those days, was offered the job of leading the Union ... The legend says his loyalty was with his beloved state of Virginia... (I think it was money).

Either way... one of WP's most illustrious not only lost a war... but was also defeated by a fellow racist and antisemitic WP alumnus... Ulyssis S Grant... who got the job after he chased all the Jews out of Tennessee... and would go on to represent the budding Republicl0wn Party by presiding over a very, very, very VERY... corrupt presidency... the most corrupt in our young nation's history... because he was a drunk... and passed out a lot... while $%!t went on around him...

sure... go ahead... hang their pictures...

I'm sure it was. Because back then, Our country was truly what it was, a Constitutional Republic. We were, and still are, a nation of independent, sovereign states.

Liberals don't think like this. They want to be progressive everywhere they go and want to do it all over the nation. But not every state wants to be like you.

If progressives could get and understand this, I believe people would like them more and things might go smoother. But they want us to be a mob democracy, so they can beat the minority to death.

But our founders saw you coming and created a country that could put you in your place.

Thank God.

Until he got his ass kicked by General Grant.

Also he was a bit of a racist.

In this particular case its presentism.
The hilarity of all this is he/him ignored the current racism and slavery of children being transported through the border under Biden.
So he could have cheaper marijuana.

Now I don't understand the idea of honoring enemies from a civil war, but then again I don't understand why US allows illegal immigrants to murder citizens.

That's some admission of guilt on your part.

Luckily for you, there's a wikiHow for that:

www.wikihow.com

Everyone is racist?
AI
Conclusion:
The statement "everyone is racist" is a generalization that oversimplifies a complex issue. The more precise understanding from psychology and sociology suggests that while most people have unconscious biases that can affect their behavior, this is different from holding explicitly racist beliefs.
