If Charlie Kirk was a six year old kid shot while at school, America would have moved on immediately.

Remember the kids shot in Denver on 09/10?

Neither does the rest of America.

Rittenhouse defended himself against thugs who wanted to kill him and burn the city down. He also went to help innocent people. If you have a problem with that, that's your problem, not mine. The fact that you're angry more violence and property damage didn't ensue, tells me all I need to know about you.

Charlie Kirk was very influential. He was effective and was only becoming more and more effective. I believe his effectiveness is why he was killed.

He was killed because one individual named Tyler Robinson got PERSONALLY Sick of his Big Mouth.

So he, as a good MAGA was trained in firearms from an early age.

He was a Competent distance shooter.

He decided to take Kirk out.

It was Personal.

Kirk convinced Robinson that He Needed Killing.

I always find this sort of forgiveness amazing:

Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, said she forgives her husband's alleged killer.

"That man, that young man ... I forgive him," Kirk said, wiping away tears as the audience at Kirk's memorial at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., erupted in applause on Sunday.

"I forgive him because it was what Christ did and is what Charlie would do," she said. "The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love. Love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us."

It reminded me of the same sort of amazing grace offered to Dylann Roof a decade ago:

Speaking to tens of thousands of people at the stadium, Kirk said she had found comfort in prayer and also in the way people had responded to her husband's death.

"We didn't see violence, we didn't see riots. We didn't see revolution. Instead we saw what my husband always prayed he would see in this country: We saw revival. We saw people open a Bible for the first time in a decade," she said, urging people to continue doing so.

"Pray again, read the Bible again, go to church next Sunday, and the Sunday after that and break free from the temptations and shackles of this world," Kirk said.

Okay, good, but let's remember there were no riots after the Roof shooting, a shooting that occurred after the church members had welcomed him into their Bible study class:
"I forgive you," said the daughter of 70-year-old Ethel Lance to the 21-year-old man who allegedly murdered her mother in church and appeared at an emotionally charged video court appearance in Charleston on Friday afternoon, two days after a horrific mass shooting here.

"You took something very precious from me, but I forgive you," Lance's daughter said through tears. "It hurts me. You hurt a lot of people, but may God forgive you."

Speaking of her son Tywanza Sanders, who was also killed on Wednesday night trying to shield his great aunt from gunfire, Felicia Sanders said to the suspect: "We welcomed you Wednesday night in our Bible study with open arms. You have killed some of the most beautifullest people that I know. Every fiber in my body hurts. I will never be the same."

She continued: "Tywanza was my hero. But as they say in the Bible study, we enjoyed you, but may God have mercy on your soul."

I wonder where this country will be 10 years from now?:

What forgiveness from Charleston church shooting families can teach us 10 years later

9 Black worshippers killed in June 2015

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - There's an unspoken expectation for safety inside the walls of a church, where love and peace flow in abundance. It's also where we can learn to be the best version of ourselves; kind, accepting and forgiving, even under the worst circumstances.

Bishop Dewayne Anthony Walker of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church said the pain of the 2015 mass shooting at Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston still feels fresh.

"I was horrified. Just the notion of someone walking into a bible study class, which we welcome ... and all of a sudden, that person stands up and just begins to shoot," Walker said.

The 21-year-old shooter shot twelve people, killing nine of them.

There were never any riots after the Tree of Life Synagogue shootings in Pittsburgh either, in which 11 people were killed and 6 injured:

A Look Back At Oct. 27, 2018
Pittsburgh's darkest day began as a rainy and dreary October morning like any other in the fall -- but the world's eyes would soon turn to Squirrel Hill, as unthinkable hatred shattered one of the city's most peaceful neighborhoods.

Eleven worshippers were shot and killed inside the Synagogue, as they attended services at each of the three congregations in the building -- Tree of Life, New Light, and Dor Hadash.

Later that evening, it was the young people of Squirrel Hill, students from Taylor Allderdice High School, who brought the community together to begin the long process of healing, one which continues today.

The streets of Mister Rogers' neighborhood filled with mourners wanting to pray, sing, cry and remember the lives taken and the lives forever impacted by the terror that rang out earlier that same day.

Kirk memorial blends religious revival with partisan politics
www.csmonitor.com

... Even before it started, the memorial service for slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk was being described as a blend of state funeral, religious revival, and MAGA mega-rally, with top-level security reflective of the times.

On Sunday, the reality bore that out. The service at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona " attended by an estimated 100,000 people, including mourners in a nearby overflow arena " was in many respects the emotional apex of a searing episode in modern American political history: the Sept. 10 assassination of a charismatic and politically divisive young leader who had engaged students on campuses across the country and brought many into the Republican fold.

Tributes by President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Donald Trump Jr., and multiple Cabinet members, as well as Mr. Kirk's widow, captured a mix of emotions " of love, grief, faith, and admiration " around a young man who had built a national movement from scratch and who supporters believed might even rise someday to the highest office in the land. ...

The service was a reminder of the degree to which religious conservatism remains closely entwined with Republican politics at its highest levels. Most prominently, speakers vowed that the movement Mr. Kirk began would continue and thrive under the leadership of his wife, Erika Kirk, recently named as his successor as chief executive of Turning Point USA. ...

Forgiveness isn't about excusing bad behavior nor is it about exempting someone from the consequences of their actions. Forgiving someone does allow you to let go of the anger so that it has no hold over you. In certain cases, where a relationship already exists, forgiveness can bring healing to a relationship. In other cases, such as forgiving an abuser it doesn't mean forgetting what happened and leaving yourself in harm's way.

Kirk's wife spoke about not repaying hate with hate, but repaying with love. I believe I saw on either CNN or NBC that it was reported that when she publicly forgave the killer, it was met with 75,000+ people giving a standing ovation.

Regardless of politics or religion, I personally believe this is a move of bringing people together and healing.

Forget that, nothing to do with political "spectrum", TFDN is just a low grade idiot.

He's making excuses for his bigotry of lower expectations regarding rioting, which is a completely uncivilized behavior in todays modern age.

It all boils down to this question: What kind of society do you want to live in, when you have a set back. One where the population goes rioting with death threats, business destruction OR prayer and adding voters ?
