Preventing health care costs from exploding? Reopening the government? Lowering the cost of groceries? Â Nope. Building himself a new $300 million ballroom.[image or embed] -- Senator Patty Murray (@murray.senate.gov) Oct 23, 2025 at 7:30 PM

Trump "dismissed concerns that his administration had not been transparent about the project."
"Well, he would, wouldn't he?" as call girl Mandy Rice-Davies replied during the Profumo Affair when informed Lord Astor denied ever knowing, let alone bedding, her.

Remember how Trump bad mouthed the price increases for the aircraft propulsion system on aircraft carriers? What about the price increases for the construction at the Fed? Sounds to me like he is as bad a planner as the people he railed about?

Why do you care? It is not your money.

That's an interesting take. Let's see where we end up.
Not my money... not my house... Sounds like Trump is not my President.

Unlike many White House renovations by previous presidents that use taxpayers' dollars, Trump's ballroom is paid for by him and donors, so the cost is immaterial to the taxpayers [supposing some of you libs here actually make enough to pay taxes ; )

Trump has the right to tear down the entire White House.
That's what he says.

Because it appears to be a giant pay to play scheme?
There aren't even official plans yet, but the costs went up 50%. Why? Because they think they can extort more money from corporate idiots hoping they won't be viewed as dispensable.

If you hold this position, you are objectively a morally bankrupt individual.
Whoever raised you failed, miserably.

Christ this simplistic stupidity is breathtaking
Trump does not OWN the white house we do.
Since you're a simpleton, think of it this way, if you are a tenant, i.e. not a property owner, renting a house, can you just demolish the house without your landlord's approval?
There is LITERALLY NOTHING stopping trump from just demolishing the ENTIRE White House and building a 50 story Trump Tower there.
the disrespect, the ignorance, the downright meanness, the complete and utter disregard for our nation's history.
I heard someone say today and it is so true, Trump cares not one whit for our past or our future, only in the moment and how that moment impacts his immediate needs.

After Nuremberg trials 2.0, they need to confiscate all of Orange Adolf's properties including Mar-o-lardo and all Trump towers and turn them into housing for the Homeless.

I have no idea. And neither does he.
And what will these "donors " want in return?

I did not know ... So I looked up who the donors are.
The list of donors to the new ballroom, provided by the White House, is below. It's not clear how much each corporation or individual contributed: Altria Group Amazon Apple Booz Allen Hamilton Caterpillar Coinbase Comcast Hard Rock International Google HP Lockheed Martin Meta Micron Technology Microsoft NextEra Energy Palantir Technologies Ripple Reynolds American T-Mobile Tether Union Pacific Railroad J. Pepe and Emilia Fanjul Adelson Family Foundation Stefan E. Brodie Betty Wold Johnson Foundation Charles and Marissa Cascarilla Edward and Shari Glazer Harold Hamm Benjamin Leon Jr. The Lutnick Family The Laura & Isaac Perlmutter Foundation Stephen A. Schwarzman Konstantin Sokolov Kelly Loeffler and Jeff Sprecher Paolo Tiramani Cameron Winklevoss Tyler Winklevoss

An itemized list of the identities of all donors to the Trump Money Laundry & Epstein Memorial Ballingroom and all amounts, a list, listed is not too much to require from a serial liar, thief, and thirty-four times convicted felon who asks, yet again, for our trust.
Only MAGAts would be stupid enough to accept Trump's word for anything.

@#17 ... The list of donors to the new ballroom, provided by the White House ...
... and what might those "donors" (imo, more properly called ~purchasers of the current occupant of the Oval Office~) get, or have gotten, in return for their "donation?"
