Investing.com -- Exxon Mobil CEO Darren Woods stated on Friday that hydrocarbons will continue to play a critical role in global energy needs for the foreseeable future. Speaking in Sao Paulo, Woods emphasized that crude oil and hydrocarbon products will remain essential components of everyday life for an extended period.

Well, yeah.

I do not disagree.

But, I do have to ask, does that mean that we should not try to move towards alternatives, as his lobbyists seem to be proffering?


I mean, his comments bring to mind for me, someone saying, back in the day, that the horse and buggy will be viable a transportation vehicle for the foreseeable future.

And the microplastics from hydrocarbon products will remain in our bodies and the oceans and the food web for even longer!
