Russia has introduced a new AI robot. Unfortunately, it fell over but not before I noticed "wow...it walks like Joe Biden"

Sure. OK. A Fake Plastic Titanium Christian.

Made in China. (Looks shiny like titanium because of all the toxic lead in the paint.)

There is a thread up about religion and faith awaiting your fake plastic (titanium) input.

Donner,

"There is a thread up about religion and faith awaiting your fake plastic (titanium) input"

Do you believe that unless someone is getting arrested or protesting, they aren't a real Christian?

This whole situation is bad for America and for the people caught up in it. Their options are minimal.

As I've said repeatedly, I support a fast track for vetted immigrants. That seems like a humane and responsible approach.

What I won't pretend to know is exactly where Jesus would stand on people breaking border laws or fighting law enforcement.

I'm not going to claim with absolute certainty what I believe Jesus might say. He'd have a clever parable.

Regardless, no one else should get to tell me what my faith should look like or what I should think.

I'll leave it at, "I don't know". Thank God no one in my family will get caught up in that.

Donner,

Seriously, I find it hard to read stories about children and women and families being terrified by ICE.

So I don't. I know horrible things go on all the time but I don't need detailed descriptions and videos to verify it.

Choosing not to traumatize myself with every detail doesn't mean I approve of what's happening. Some people can handle watching that sort of pain. I'm not less Christian, less compassionate, or less informed because I don't treat human suffering like entertainment.

It's because you vote for politicians who treat human suffering like entertainment.

That's the moment you turn away from Jesus.

Donner,

If I had to guess, Jesus might say that enforcing laws is the government's job, and doing so humanely is part of that responsibility.

What should happen is a fair and quick vetting system should be implemented and make it a high priority. Keep citizens and illegals safe.

Donner,

A rich man asked Jesus what he should do to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus said give away your money to the poor and needy.

The rich man was disheartened because he couldn't do that.

Jesus doesn't think like the natural world. It just seems unfair Jesus would give this answer. Once again we see an example that we need the mercy that comes from believing Jesus is God and that earning your way to God's good favor thru actions isn't possible on your own.

Regarding the immigrants, would Jesus tell us all to open our homes, take them in and feed them? Again, this is an answer that seems unfair or unreasonable.

I've written that the border and illegals must be handled as a secular issue.

Trying to justify our actions with scripture might not even be possible.

"Jesus might say that enforcing laws is the government's job,"

Jesus might also say (since we are quoting our own personal Jesus), that we are all responsible for following the Law including those who we Citizens have tasked with enforcing it.

Unfortunately Jesus (the actual one) apparently had no knowledge of what a democracy was or how it should work. Which is strange if you think about it because he was supposedly a God. Or the Son of one.

Another AI Overview

Laws should be enforced by the executive branch of government, led by the President and carried out by various law enforcement agencies like the Department of Justice and the FBI at the federal level, and local police departments at the state and local levels. The President is constitutionally responsible for ensuring laws are "faithfully executed," a duty they perform through subordinates and agencies.

Not faithfully enforcing the law is an impeachable offense.

The U.S. Constitution, in Article II, Section 3, explicitly mandates that the President "shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed". This is known as the "Take Care Clause" or "Faithful Execution Clause," and it imposes a duty on the executive to enforce laws passed by Congress, whether or not the President agrees with them as a matter of policy.

- A rich man asked Jesus what he should do to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus said give away your money to the poor and needy.

That's not what happened.

"16Just then a man came up to Jesus and inquired, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to obtain eternal life?"

17"Why do you ask Me about what is good?"e Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments."

18"Which ones?" the man asked.

Jesus answered, "Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, 19honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.'"

20"All these I have kept," said the young man. "What do I still lack?"

21Jesus told him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me."

22When the young man heard this, he went away in sorrow, because he had great wealth." Mat 19

He was told two things, what to do to enter the Kingdom, and what to do to 'be perfect'.

;;

- Regarding the immigrants, would Jesus tell us all to open our homes, take them in and feed them?

That's exactly what he said, repeatedly. He said that each time we do that for anyone, it is like we had done it for Him.

BJ's white nationalist MAGAnite understanding of scripture is worse than most pagan liberals, lol.

"Welcoming the stranger" is not a place; it's an attitude.
My family often assisted people trudging north in the Sonoran Desert border country.
We didn't invite them into the house to spend the night.
But we did make up sandwiches, get them something to drink, refill their canteens, dispense some dinero.
Because they were people caught in one helluva crunch and they could use help.
It didn't seem like a lot to ask or a lot to do.
In fact ,it seemed to me at the time exactly like what it seems like now: the bare minimum.

Doc,

Bringing strangers into your home is probably not a good idea. Ideally, doing that would certainly be putting your money where your mouth is.

In reality though, the best solution to handle this massive group of millions is likely not something you can find in scripture.

"AI Overview

Jesus's teachings emphasize welcoming and caring for the poor, including "strangers" or immigrants, viewing such acts as done for him directly.

Key passages include Matthew 25:31-40, where he states that welcoming the stranger is like welcoming him, and the emphasis on showing hospitality and love to those in need.

The Old Testament also provides a precedent by commanding the Israelites to treat "the foreigner residing among you" as they would a native-born citizen.

Jesus' NT teaching and the OT teaching of what the Gov of Israel, which was the Priests, should do about the poor, strangers and immigrants.

The Usual Nonsense by white national MAGAnites that the Gov can't spend to help people, immigrant or not, is made null and void; Israel was told to take care of them as if they were native born citizens.
