Throughout US President Donald Trump's second term in office, traders have been betting millions of dollars just before he makes major announcements. The BBC has examined trade volume data on several financial markets and matched them to some of the president's most significant market-moving statements. It found a consistent pattern of spikes just hours, or sometimes minutes, before a social media post or media interview was made public.

Insider trading has been illegal for most Americans since the Securities Act was passed in 1933.

No way such activity can be considered part of the president's normal duties, which is the gist of the hall pass granted by SCOTUS to Der Dotard. Typical in the punishment of those convicted of insider trading is disgorgement of profits, on top of a fine. Trump will fight like hell to not give back any of his ill-gotten gains. And there is no way he didn't know of this activity, and wasn't part of the scheme...

An administration comprised of billionaire sociopaths, staffed with a gaggle of grifters and con-artists means this was an inevitability.

His proclivity to sell pardons to every fraudster sitting in jail or on appeal will give the low level staffers engaging in this insider -------- false security.

How far down will his pardons go? Only as far as the people who can afford them.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'd bet a Benjamin that nobody is ever prosecuted for it.

Dem "leadership" won't do anything that inconveniences Wall St.

Dem "leadership" won't do anything

Biden proved that.

Considering there are reports Obama knew Trump was being funded by the Kremlin, he's just as responsible.

This is where democrats snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

They're slaves to AIPAC and the corporate elite.

Dems may win due to voter fatigue of Trump, like in 2020. But their lackluster performance made many wonder what the point was.

America deserves more than the 2 party system of the Oligarch Party vs the Corporate Elite Party.

By the way, they're the same people.

#7 You say Dem "leadership" won't do anything that inconveniences Wall St.

I suppose you mean then that America should keep electing Republicans because they will inconvenience Wall St.?

Is that what you're saying, Morris?

#8 Clown says, "America deserves more than the 2 party system of the Oligarch Party vs the Corporate Elite Party."

And just where is America supposed to find that "thing" that they do deserve?

Democrats have plenty of candidates available

The DNC shoots them down every chance they get.

#11 That's the most ridiculous comment I've read today, Clown.

Just how does the DNC shoot down candidates?

Didn't shoot down any of these recent Democratic success stories:

-> Georgia voters ousted two Republican members of the state's Public Service Commission in favor of two Democrats - the first Democrats to win statewide nonfederal offices in decades.

-> Democrats in Mississippi Break the G.O.P.'s State House Supermajority

-> Every single county in Virginia - even deeply red counties - saw shifts TOWARDS the Democrats, as opposed to how they voted 1 year ago.

-> Dems flip Wichita School Board from a 4-3 GOP majority to a 5-2 Democratic majority. Democratic candidates Amy Warren and Amy Jensen defeated Republican incumbents Hazel Stabler and Kathy Bond.

-> Two of Tuesday's school board elections were in Bucks County, Pa., which was considered "ground zero" for right-wing groups' takeover of school boards in 2021. A few years ago, conservatives on these boards in Pennbridge and Central Bucks districts were using their roles to pass policies targeting LGBTQ+ students and banning books.

---> Democrats flipped control of both boards in 2023, and on Tuesday, they ousted every Republican from both of these boards, except for one. The Pennbridge school board is now 8-1, with Democratic members in control. The Central Bucks school board is 9-0.

-> In Texas, we even won in Lockhart, which sits in a district so red that Democrats normally don't even run. We had a clean sweep in Cy-Fair ISD, another deeply red area that not even Greg Abbott could save your party.

-> In SD-9, another red district, we saw an 8 point shift for the Democrat

-> Eileen Higgins elected as first Democratic mayor of Miami in three decades

It seems like way too many on our side of the aisle seem bound and determine to see to it that the Democratic Party becomes pure... and permanently in the minority, incapable of stopping any/all GOP legislation and GOP judicial nominations.

As for me, the opposition isn't the DNC (or the Democratic Party, or any Democratic candidate that's brave enough to throw their hat into the ring).

The opposition is the RNC, the Republican Party, and every candidate with an (R) after their name.

Eye on the prize, Clown.

Eye on the prize.

Friend,

Currently Steyer is the leading Democrat in the polls for California governor.

The safe choice would be for all Californians to flock to him.

But many of us don't want a New York billionaire running our state, so we're pushing for Becerra.

Currently republicans are poised to win.

But we're gambling that our state is worth more than being bought by billionaires and run as a corporation.

Best of luck to California.

#13 Yeah?

So, work hard and campaign for and donate to Becerra.

But, come November, if it is Steyer versus Hilton, who are you going to vote for?

Just how does the DNC shoot down candidates?

Please, don't insult either of us with such questions.

They tried and failed with Mamdani. But have been successful in many other elections.

The Democratic Party is run by corporate elites who seek to prevent social democratic candidates from winning.

work hard and campaign for and donate to Becerra.

But, shouldn't we just all vote for Steyer? That's literally what your posts read like they're saying.

Also. I'm donating and helping get the word out for Becerra.

There are plenty of decent non-AIPAC Democrats to vote for: pdamerica.org

And the DNC-- like the Republicans and the FBI Epstein files-- still refuse to release the official autopsy report of why incumbent VPOTUS Kamala Harris and successful Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) lost 6,265,888 supporters that voted Democratic on Tuesday 3 Nov 2020, but not on Tuesday 5 Nov 2024, costing the DNC the White House.

The catastrophe for the DNC cost them enjoying the spectacle of America250, FIFA 2026, and the 2028 Summer Olympiad.

Meanwhile, ICC-indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu still holds on to power in Israel, Kamala Harris is in the wilderness, and Tim Walz plans on retiring.

#16 Then you're not reading my posts.

I have often been disappointed that my preferred candidate didn't make it to the general election following the primary.

But, when November rolls around then, yes, the Democratic candidate is my choice.

Once again, come November, if it is Steyer versus Hilton, who are you going to vote for?

#19 | Posted by A_Friend at 2026-04-20 03:40 PM | Reply

#18 Not possible.

Bernie Sanders isn't a Democrat.

Can't get screwed by a party that isn't yours...

...unless you allow them to do that.

And afterwards, wouldn't the person who was "screwed" disavow the party that wasn't even theirs, and then spend the rest of their time damning said party?

If I remember correctly, Senator Sanders is still caucusing with the Democrats.
