Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

If a Democratic politician suggests a slight tax increase or says that, perhaps, the government should regulate certain matters so as to protect the health, safety, and well-being of Americans from demonstrable risks and harms, they are painted as Stalin 2.0 and the political press goes on a weeks-long jag about whether radical socialism is right for America. Meanwhile, Trump has opened up nationalized, price-controlled gas stations

This is a transparent propaganda effort aimed at pacifying idiots who don't understand " or don't want to understand " that the reason gas prices are so high right now is that Trump launched an illegal war of choice in Iran, promptly lost it, and then yesterday broke the ceasefire which stands to send energy prices spiraling up even higher.

I'd like to think that both people and the press will see this for the pathetic, empty political gambit that it is " and perhaps reckon with the manner in which they demonize politicians of one party "communists" or "socialists" while never seeming to do the same to the other " but I'm not holding my breath.

Dummkopf Trumpf learned something from fellow New Yorker NYC Zohran Mamdani (D) and his plan for five grocery stores for poor people, one for each borough.

If Trump told his slathering mob that Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Hamilton, the lot, were actually believers in a "Purer, Americanoized brand of communism that was actually good" they'd turn on a dime.

Still not knowing the meaning of that word, "communism." Just another space filler for plaintive cries of "Turn on the night light."

"Trump has opened up nationalized, price-controlled gas stations"

The article says it's a private company that receives no subsidies.

Trump is pimping it obviously but it's not clear exactly what the Federal government is doing to specifically help this business.

The title of the thread is more important here. Who cares about reality, just look at DocSadist, bloviating, shooting his shot, before even reading the article, hell he probably didn't even read the article after.

And it gets a NEWSWORTHY, now that person is a certified idiot whoever that was..

These Lumpers smdh.

According to what I read, the corporate entities behind it aren't even fully known.

In any case, it doesn't really matter. We have the White House in a secret agreement with some gas retailer to fix prices (at $3.47 because Trump is the 47th POTUS.../barf) in order to give the impression to people that gas is cheaper than it is.

I'm old enough to remember when a scheme like this would have had righties frothing at the mouth.

The other retail owners in Penn are certainly frothing at the mouth over this, I guarantee you

What it seems to be is that Trump announced on X that he's doing this.

And at the same time announces through all the other traditional news outlets that he has nothing to do with it

It appears he changes this message for his followers and/or his haters on X

At this point there is no evidence of that but I accept that literally anything is possible.

"Communism is a system of government in which the ruling party controls major investment decisions while hoarding wealth for itself and suppressing all opposition.

Nevertheless, Donald Trump professes to dislike it."

"Trump has opened up nationalized, price-controlled gas stations"

I have a question.....did he? Did Trump actually open up nationalized, price-controlled gas stations?

They should bring a lawsuit, this is in violation of Federal and State law.

What oil in Venezuela used to go to China, now goes to the US.
Could it be Venezuelan oil, just causing low prices?

@h4ckedreality

The White House just celebrated opening a government gas station with government-controlled prices and called it "Freedom Fuel" - the same administration that called Mamdani's city grocery stores communism.

Trump chose Pennsylvania for his gas station because it's a swing state he's hoping to influence.

No evidence? Not if you don't look.

But what is most likely? The odds are Trumpy or one of his acolytes are behind it.

The company was only just registered in 2026.

The exact owners of the newly launched Freedom Fuel Network are not publicly known. It is a private company registered in late June 2026 as Freedom Fuel Network, LLC.

But Trumpy LOVES the uneducated for a reason.

You've missed the point. You offered up the question of whether we were talking about reality "or" something else. Since you were involved I responded correctly: "Or," because I don't see much reality reflected in what you post. I'm sure you don't agree, but there it is: you sound like some poor sucker who managed to wriggle out from a Chicom or Nork lab where extremely powerful Amazonian psychedelics are undergoing testing for possible future weaponization. Remember: Serpentine!

The Trump administration has publicly promoted a new branded network called Freedom Fuel. The network has launched about 25 gas stations, primarily in the greater Philadelphia area (Pennsylvania and New Jersey).

"What does this have to do with Trump!?" - Eberly

Well. If Trump is directly promoting this gas station, he's helping sell their fuel, it has everything to do with Trump.

The question I have is, what are oil execs going to do about it, fight Trump or bend the knee.

#15 | Posted by oneironaut

Look at onelumpofs*&^ trying so hard to bend over backwards to give that reach around.

These White House initiative pushed stations are offering fuel at lower prices than anything around. It's not a market-driven initiative.

#25 | Posted by jpw at 2026-07-09 11:59 AM | Reply

There are aspects of this story that raise questions:

The company was formed only shortly before the launch.

It's receiving promotion from the White House and Trump.

Industry analysts have said the advertised prices appear difficult to sustain on normal retail margins alone. Patrick De Haan of GasBuddy said that "somebody's got to pay for it" if stations are consistently selling below cost.

-do you do anything other than make excuses for Trump and obfuscate everything?

yes. all the time.

That's what called a direct answer to a question.

Do you do anything other than chase folks around making that absurd accusation?

Because it's not an unreasonable question...and you know it.

but you have to make excuses for such allegations with no proof.

-There is your "Evidence".

That you don't know the ownership of this LLC....that's evidence Trump owns it?

Has it occurred to any of you yet why this is a news issue?

Why Trump is taking credit for this?

What's significant or unique about this gas retailer?

I insure gas retailers and have for 25 years. I've seen many of them get sold, sold again, renamed, etc..

What stands out here with this "Freedom Fuel Network LLC"?
